Why exactly do people still want nerfs?

The multiplayer has had this problem a few times in the past (mainly thinking of the Krysae), but I don't think we're even close to that state right now. I almost never see the same loadout twice in a lobby outside of speedrun attempts and Platinum matches, and honestly, I don't give a **** about Platinum for the purposes of balance since balancing around it would make all lower difficulties ridiculously imbalanced.
Meanwhile, I don't ever feel gimped using a Wraith, Claymore, Talon, CSMG, etc.. I can be effective with non-infiltrators (actually not that good with them, truthfully). The game is imbalanced, but it's not so imbalanced that thee's one single kit that makes all other possibilities so comparatively weak as to be pointless. They've actually done a good job of bringing things in line in terms of stuff being OP.
tl;dr: The typical reasons for 'balance' no longer are a big feature outside of Platinum. Why are people still asking for nerfs when none of the OP weapons actually present the kinds of problems that balance is supposed to address?

What else are we going to talk about if we don't go around complaining about harriers and reegars.

Quoting out of context needs to be nerfed and banned.

Oh, and adding some noise to make Geth Bombers a little less stealthy would be nice.

That's absolute bull****. Most of the balance cries comes from the best players, not the worst.xandax86 wrote...
Because people dont like being outscored when playing on their crappy builds.

Considering that has been the 12 month logic against nerfs, that sentence will always be in context.

Most do come from good players. Some have come from bad players. Some have also come from newer players that don't have the better weapons yet.

You dont need to be a bad player in order to have crappy builds.

There are a couple things that could be taken down a peg, but it isn't likely to happen. Nor do I think they get commonly abused, which is more important as far as BW is concerned.

Why not? EC practically created the term First Order Optimal Strategy, and since then its used absolutely EVERYWHERE, both in the community members who take design seriously and in the developers. James Portnow knows what the hell he's talking about; if anyone ever wanted to get into game design theory, Extra Credits is the best place to start.

Admittedly, there are times when something so outclasses everything else that it needs to be nerfed. I usually identify those instances by a) is the item/class used by a much higher rate than should be expected, and
Developers prejudices always show in gameplay. There will always be balance issues because comparisons are often qualitative (perception) rather than quantative (a =
