Why exactly do people still want nerfs?

yeah but nerfing the weapon would not be the way to fix that that's like saying people can drown in water so no more waterKaelis_33 wrote...
Sometimes it gets old seeing reegartards all the time. Just spamming and evaporating everything within 15 feet. Had a team with 3 regartards on it once, was silly. Two of them were the obvious flamer+reegartard combos.

Personally, I think people that call for nerfs fall into 2 types. The first type are the hatefuls. They just want to be mean and ruin/destroy everything along their path in life. The second type are the can't do's. The can't do's are unable to play whatever they are calling to have nerfed to it's full potential or just don't like playing it. In both cases, they are negative people and often like to argue for arguements sake.
Admittedly, there are times when something so outclasses everything else that it needs to be nerfed. I usually identify those instances by a) is the item/class used by a much higher rate than should be expected, andif everything else was raised to the same level of effectivness would the game be utterly easy/broken.
Developers prejudices always show in gameplay. There will always be balance issues because comparisons are often qualitative (perception) rather than quantative (a =. However, the positive gamer asks for weaknesses (such as the QFE) to be buffed, rather than the strong (such as the GI) to be nerfed.
So eloquently stated. Werd

No one wants to remove water, but you could nerf it some, make sure it isn't too deep, and that it doesn't, you know, melt every cerb/ reaper/ geth/ collector ridiculously fast.

Yeah, I think there's plenty of room to nerf the Reegar without removing its ability to strip the shields off an atlas in seconds flat. That huge multiplier against shields helps it a lot.Killahead wrote...

Heck, if it were less lethal there'd even be room to reduce its weight!

Exactly. If the base damage was decreased quite a bit it would still be excellent at stripping shields. It would serve a purpose as a boss shield stripper, and it would by no means be worthless against mooks, but hopefully a bit less effective against armor. And yes, then I'd be in favor of reducing it weight back to where it was.

let's get together on live sometime you show me the need for this nerf and ill agree I play platinum and gold all the time and almost never see the reegar used i have every weapon to ten and I know for a fact it's not like its going to take down an atlas in two or even three clips also getting that close and staying alive would be a challenge in and of itself on platinum with most enemies. I'm serious come show me I'm not trying to be a jerk man I'd really like to see what your talking about I its real because I have never seen it perform on that level.Killahead wrote...

With equipment you actually will down a Platinum Atlas in 3 clips unless you're using Incendiary in which case it becomes 2.
and that was on a character without a weapon damage boost outside of the passive.

if that's true that's great. However to be that close to an atlas in the middle of wave 7 on platinum and not go down while reloading those three clips is doubtful hence why it would need to be so strong.Cyonan wrote...

I've argued against nerfing the Reegar and will keep doing so except for the idea of cutting the damage in half while doubling the defence modifiers to cut down what ammo powers do for the gun, since I agree that'd actually solve the one thing that I think can be problematic on the Reegar, which is ammo powers completely bypassing the 0.5x armour modifier.
The general response to your point however is that the Piranha and AT-12 aren't as powerful as the Reegar while having roughly the same effective range if not on an accuracy booster. The AT-12 is even heavier.
and trying to argue that the AT-12 or Piranha need a buff is an argument you will not win, since they're both already two of the best shotguns in the game.

I'm just saying when you look at the whole picture and not just dps some weapons have that really high dps for a good reason because the use of them is with greater risk
Frankly, if someone is outscoring me with something I'm voting for nerf!

lol now that's funny thanks for lightening up the conversation a bit anyways I'm done people only change they're minds if they decide too I can't make people see what I do. I see where they're getting the really high damage almost seeming unfair at times but that when you get lobbies of three people that all use the same thing and then yeah it becomes very op but I've never seen one guy run around with a reegar killing everything on platinum and still be alive at the end.Mindlog wrote...
