Sometimes I really kinda wish to meet the people who post things that enrage me or just make me shake my head in disbelief in real life, so we could, idk, have some beers and talk about stuff other than ME3.

Yeah, Wulfie might be a nice guy but we'll never know. Here, he just comes across as a jerk.

Again:

Synthesis's purpose is to solve the supposed problem of organics being killed by synthetics.

How does it do this if no one is organic anymore?

What's stopping Synthepeople from creating pure synthetics that will then kill everyone?

What happens when pure organic life forms on an undiscovered garden planet in the distant future?

Why do people stop fighting the Reapers if it doesn't alter people's minds?

what happens to the geth? ... are they partially organic now? .. will they have beards?

nothing. and there are existing synthetics out there, who can kill the "former organics" despite understanding them.

they are synthesized as well. it targets even plants - and plants are simple organisms.

good question. is a mindwash included? javik suddenly seems to care about a dead primitive and did not commit suicide.

general statement:

understanding does not bring peace.

the tutsi understand the hutu - they killed each other.
the turks understood the armenians - the killed them by the hundreds of thousands.
hte germans understood the jews - shoa
the germans understood the social democrats (political opposition) as well - thats the reason they were persued

.....

history is full of examples, why understanding does not bring peace.

Control and Synthesis solve the problem, Destroy is a band aid.

Oh look, another person who's wholeheartedly bought into the Catalyst's flawed logic, vague explanations and meaningless platitudes.  Let me spell out exactly where you're going wrong, in three simple statements.

1:  The Reaper's purpose is not our purpose.

2:  The Reaper's problems are not our problems.

3:  The Reaper's solutions are not our solutions.

There's a word for people who the Reapers convince (or who have managed to convinces themselves) otherwise, but I'm not allowed to say it.

Suffice to say, the only "problem" the Galaxy is currently facing is the one raging on around the Citadel while you sit in awe in front of the Catalyst, drink it's Kool-Aid and hang on every word it says.  The same "problem" that has lead to the extinction of every previous galactic civilisation since the Leviathan:  The Reapers themselves.

Once the Reapers are gone for good, the galaxy will be free to examine the possibility of and find solutions for any other as-yet hypothetical and unproven "problem" on it's own terms, with the benefit of what we have learned from our current struggle and the lessons of the past to draw from, and without having to resort to relying on an omnipotent overlord and it's fleet of indestructable machine gods, or making unwanted, unpredictable and potentially entirely unneccesary wholesale changes to the basic genetic structire of every living being in the galaxy.

Or, y'know, you can carry on doing exactly what the Catalyst wants you to.  It's up to you.

Take this into consideration. The Catalyst appears before you to extend an offer of peace in 3 flavors, yet doesn't order his toys to cease fire while you make the most important decision in galactic history. In fact, take too long and the reapers destroy you along with the crucible. Think about that before you claim the Catalyst comes in peace and has only the best intentions.

Nice, apart from one thing.

The Catalyst doesn't extended us an offer of peace in three flavours.

What it actually does is tell us to stop what we're doing, and do what it wants us to do instead.

Do what it wants us to do.... and then there will be peace.

Or so it says.

Another thing to consider. Shepard is on deaths door and wont last much longer. The fleets are getting obliterated and will not hold out much longer and the Hammer ground team has been decimated.

The reapers have the galactic resistance fleet by the quads and suddenly the catalyst just invites the lone, half dead organic into its chamber to discuss its terms of surrender? Are we absolutely sure we're not being set up to make a desperate and stupid decision we'll all regret?

i't them or us. Nothing grey about that. They will like to tell you that their options work, and they don't, if use use simple logic. HEREis a great explanation as to why destroy is the best option, if you can handle the reading...

Also, for you destroy fans out there, check this out.
