Hi Guys,

I apologize in advance if I'm stiring up this topic again.

After the ME3 debacle - I left the community for a long time - and focused on other games, and I just now re-visited the site and wonder: Is the majority of the ME community still hurt from the entire ME3 debacle?

How did it affect you - in retrospect?
How do you feel about ME4 and buying future DLC or ME games in general?

Just interested to hear from you.

There are no such things as dumb questions, but that one comes close.

The answer is yes times 3.14159265359 cubed. People may not be as loud as before, but their hate has only condensed into a new form of high density superhate element.

Hurt? Nah.

Bummed about Bioware's recent failures/future? Yeah.

If people were still not hurt over the game, threads wouldn't be so negative all the time.

like I said - I just came back roaming the threads for the first time in months.
Didn't know about all the negativity still going on.

It's going on stronger than ever. It makes trying to have a conversation irritating when the only responses on trying to think on something in ME3 anymore are just "lol plothole" "lore error" "artistic integrity" "Super Mac" and "EndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEndingEnding..."

I didn't buy any DLC (yet?), though that could change depending on the reception of the last release // my interest in it. I'm bitter, but hopeful for future releases.

I wonder if we could use said element in place of Eezo.

That said, I have and always will be quite satisfied with ME3. It's a really good game and I love playing it (same goes for the multiplayer).

I don't think this forum represents 'the community' , of the people who bought and played the game very few will use this forum, out of the people who played the previous games, few will use this forum.

Yeah, me too, I like ME3 and I also like how it ends. And frankly, I don't really care about the debacle or how others feel about it.

Speaking for myself, no.

I hated the original endings of the game, but I thought the Extended Cut addressed most of my major complaints. Post EC there are still some elements I'm not crazy about, but I think it works as satisfying conclusion to the trilogy even if it may not be a perfect one.

I haven't cared much about the endings in months. It is a dead issue as far as I'm concerned.

I think I'm just disappointed. Now when I replay it I get 3/4 of the way through and any interest to continue dies. Unfortunate. As far as future purchases, well that depends. One thing is for sure, no more pre-orders, no more limited editions, and possible no more release day purchases. May start holding out and buy used unless it gets great reviews from the forums and gamers alike.

I pretty much fell out of love in March '12. Didn't like the ending then, still don't like it today. Keeping up with events for giggles and because I'm looking to bet a bottle of booze with a buddy of mine on the war assets from the upcoming DLC. Whoever guesses right (or gets the closest) wins.

I'm also genuinely curious about the DLC and what I'll think about it. I'll make up my mind on that on youtube ofcourse, not spending a penny on it regardless. I'll be very careful about an eventual ME4 but I'm open to the idea. I'm all for setting ME4 in the ME universe but not pre, post or during Shepard's time. I'll check out a demo & vids when they come out.

The majority of this part of the community clearly is, other internet communities seem to be much the same though less animated, and the rest, the largest part of the fanbase who don't frequent forums or comment section of sites like YouTube, have probably moved on.

I'm pretty convinced that there are far more people will look back and think of ME3's final moments negatively than there are people who will back and think it was brilliant, but most will be indifferent, like I am.

I'm still haunted by the ending but I stopped talking about it.
I still can't get over my Mass Effect addiction

After the EC I'm optimistic again. I'm about to start a new playthrough of ME3 and I look forward to new dlc and more BioWare games.

Well, I wouldn't say a majority.

But I would say that they have really diminished the size and trust of their core fanbase. And they don't really seem to care that they have at this point.

If by hurt you mean will it effect my consumer choices in the future, than I'd have to say yes it will.

There was no "debacle" for me other than the unmitigated lack of creative thinking on display amongst the fans. I'm very much looking forward to any and all future games set in the Mass Effect Universe.

Yes. I won't speak for others, but I can tell you that there are plenty of people on these forums that are still hurt and disappointed.

Remember, too, that many of folks have moved on from both the BSN and BioWare at this point -- considering we are nearing a year after the release.

Hurt is kind of a strong word.

Disappointed and confused, yes. Concerned about the future of ME, yes.

The sad part is after the ending debacle, various other shortcomings of ME3 come to light - shortcomings that I overlooked the first time. Playing through it a 2nd time, the fetch quests, lack of hub worlds, polish, glitches etc. start to become apparent.

I'll probably still buy ME4 though, depending on the quality.

YES, the majority of the ME community is still hurt from ME3 debacle. I'm speaking for everyone here! Because I choose CONTROL!
