Is the majority of the ME community still hurt from ME3 debacle?

Hence the curiosity...

Right. So you're saying it's just the core fanbase that used to spread the good word about bioware's games and defend them from the stupid media propaganda machine are the ones that are angry with ME3.
Guess it's not that big of a deal then.

Funny how some majoritys decide to remain silent and accept being represented by the same 4-5 individuals.

The original endings were vague, if not confusing. The EC solved any problems I had, so that's all water under the bridge.
I'll purchase the next DLC regardless of whatever reviews I read, and look forward to the next installment in this ground-breaking series.

They just don't care about mass effect. They liked the three games, didn't make it a corner stone of their lives like the dissapointed people, and thought the games were meh.
That's my experince at least, a lot of the people I meet who play the game thought it was good, and the ending of me3 is meh to alright.

I wasn't one of the people who had massively huge and earth-shattering expectations for the endings, so I never had a problem with them even though I agreed with certain criticisms about some of the plot holes. I thought that conceptually the ideas were interesting but agreed that the execution was lacking. Heck, I even formerly supported the people who wanted additional endings.
I was never "hurt" by the endings, and my opinion is that anyone who actually felt hurt or suffered emotional distress over the game and/or its ending(s) has blown things way, way out of proportion. I believe I once saw a suicide threat over it (which was quickly removed from the forums iiirc). A lot of times I saw an awful lot of melodramatic posts that amounted to: "OMG, the endings were so traumatic that I can NEVER play another game again FOR THE REST OF MY LIIIIIIIIIIFE!!!!!!"
There's being disappointed by an ending, and then there's seriously overreacting to it. At a certain point (let's say a couple of months later), it gets tiresome trying to be reasonable and having rational conversations with people that you consider to be completely unhinged. So I've mostly ignored the ME3 forums because all the emo/angry types seem incapable of talking about anything else but how miserable they are. Hey, maybe it's different now - who knows. I no longer care to converse with the majority of "fans" here anyway.
Like I've said before, I certainly get sad/upset when a character I like is killed off on a show or if something really horrible happens (as is often the case on The Walking Dead tv series) - but I get over it in a few days in private instead of screaming about how unhappy I am for a whole entire year. I also realize that any decisions the writers make are not done with the intention of hurting fans or to be deliberately cruel (and I've seen numerous moronic posts where fans seem to feel that everything the ME3 writers did was done on purpose to hurt them *rolleyes*).
If people here are still in whining mode, it's about time they get over it.

Hurt is kind of a strong word.
Disappointed and confused, yes. (...)
That about sums it up for me as well.
I wasn't around much before ME3 was released, so it's difficult to compare, but I think it's safe to say the community as a whole is still hurt by the ending controversy. There are still countless ending threads popping up regularly and forum members argue about plot holes and the quality of writing in this part or that. It's obvious that the BSN is still fragmented... which is a shame. It makes people lose perspective, arguing over silly matters that don't mean anything. It makes us forget we should all be on the same side here, celebrating our enthusiasm for the Mass Effect universe.
For me, personally, the worst people are those incapable of seeing the POVs of those they disagree with, instead posting the same arrogant messages time and time again (there's even an example in this very thread, go figure). It shows how unwilling some members here are to accept and tolerate other opinions and it's killing off discussions quite effectively. It would be neat with an ignore function, but alas, no such luck.
Another thing that would help would be more communication with the developers. There's been very limited discussion (perhaps even none at all?) about the endings and it exacerbates the issues they brought forth. Not that I blame anyone in particular - we have a fair few members around here who will post any kind of antagonistic nonsense just to vent their frustrations, so it's not exactly surprising. Still, there must be several ways the developers could set something up and engage in a mature dialogue - if they so desired. But no, we're left here bickering amongst ourselves, repeating the same topics over and over. There's some interesting debates now and then, but on the whole I find most topics on this board to be of mediocre worth.
I just hope ME4 will bring us back together, more or less - I doubt it, but I'm a foolish optimist in many regards
