I'm confused, why did they call this conference when they had next to nothing to show? Couldn't it have waited until E3?

Funnily enough, this will probably make their E3 presence look even lamer.

So what did I miss? Not much to write home about apparently. For some reason I'm not surprised.

Kinda sad that Watch_Dogs was the highlight of the show, and it's not even an exclusive.

So how much gimmicky motion based stuff is the PS4 based around? I can't look up the details at the moment.

I'm guessing I should brace myself for disappointment?

Oh well, will finally give me a chance to switch to a primarily PC gamer once the "next gen" rolls along. Already playing a few games on there.

You missed social media waffle, a new controller thats the same again but with extra stuff it doesn't need, three sequels that look the same again but with better graphics, some indie stuff, the PS Move still exists it seems, David Cage and a big face, some people saying they are going to make games and then not showing the games and not much else.

I like how they kept talking about having amazing games, then proceeded to show off pre-rendered cinematics. I mean, that's the status quo. But it always annoys me when they hype up games, then never show actual footage, or in the case of Watch Dogs, probably used a PC to run it instead.

All I got from that was there's no backwards compatibility, everything is social and that game developers want to make movies, not games.

I don't understand all this negativity, I thought the presentation was very solid.

And Nintendo did the same thing, showed the Wii U controller on E3 and the console weeks after it.

The no-backwards-compatibility is an issue and will probably persuade people to hold on to their old consoles longer or switch to a platform that has no compatibility issues.

I don't understand how such an anti-social bunch is regularly on a social networking site like this. The new features seem cool.

Except for the better graphics I'm not seeing a whole lot to persuade me to buy this console.

Not a bad conference. I can certainly do without the focus on social media though. I mean really...do not care. And I'm not sure about the design of the Dual Shock 4.

BUT the game demos they showed were nice for teh most part. Killzone looked very good, as did Watch Dogs.

And I was waiting for the SE reps to come out. I don't know though, they showed the Agnes Philosophy footage again, then after that was he saying that a NEW Final Fantasy that they have been working on will be releasing for PS4 in 2013? Or was he saying that a FF game they have been working on will be released in 2013? I kinda thought he was talking about Versus XIII, but I wanna clarify.

And there was massive confusion with respect to what the WiiU was after that "reveal." Not that thats the case here but I kind of felt like Sony didn't quite bring their A-game for how hyped this was. It was more or less confirming what people already figured.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next Xbox also doesn't have backwards compatability.
