holy crap on a stick. i can't believe how angry people are. it's a one hour dlc that will be out soon. how so many people are up in arms and full of self entitlement is beyond me. it'll come when it will come. you've been more patient than i would have been, david. if it was me, there'd be about 10 people on 1 week vacations.

Oh hush

why must i hush if there are many in these threads being downright nasty and they don't "hush"? the level of self entitlement is unbelieveable.

Oh hush.   That will be quite enough of your common sense and logical suppositions,  sir!   Were there not ladies present I would be tempted to challenge you to a bout of fisticuffs and trounce you soundly!:D

I was incredibly angry when this whole thing opened up. I really do feel let down and disappointed. I love this game. It is fantastic. Mr. G's books are amazing. I've said it before. I got the books, the shirt with limited edition dlc, collectors edition of the game, soundtrack the first day it came out, even the 30 seconds to mars album just for the DA track that was on it. I AM A FAN. I think everyone here is passionate, maybe overly so, because of their love of the game.
I was just as mad as anyone to begin with, but then I really thought about it. You're lashing out at the very people who crafted the thing you love. Seeing David post so much on this forum really drove it home for me. These people care just as much as you do. They put their lives into the game. Cut everyone some slack here. It's coming. Expansions are coming. Comic books are coming. Your appetites will be satiated. Flipping out at the people who are feeding your hunger only makes you look like an ingrate. We're being "treated like children" because, honestly, a lot of people are acting like children. This community has got to be made up primarily of adults, but you'd hardly know it.
Yes, I'm disappointed. Incredibly so. But, you know, you can't discredit an entire company that's provided nothing but quality product for years because of one mishap. I'm sure they've learned a lot from this ordeal. I think the least the community can learn is patience.

Hmm. I have to agree.

I have been reading these RtO threads ever since I found that the Bioware Points that the RtO page graciously allowed me to buy suddenly were not going anywhere, early on the 5th. The same day they announced that the DLC was postponed for indeterminate reasons, they announced Awakening.

Everyone is speculating, the Mods and Devs are deflecting a lot of it, and what we end up with is pages upon pages of trolling people. Want to be treated like adults, kids? Act like adults. The content will come when it comes, and despite some of us already forking out the $5 of hard earned cash, we are willing to wait on it. I have all the other content myself, save the T-Shirt pendant content from Hot Topic, and I am enjoying playing the game over and over between getting comics done and working on our store.

I have yet to make any Bioware/DA:O comics because honestly? I have yet to experience ALL the content, and because making "angry" comics about the delay is so 2006.

Want some speculation to sustain you until the DLC appears? Try this:

The reason RtO is delayed is because it will be a part of Awakening. Let me say that again: They are adding it to the DA:Awakening content.

There is your slab of meat, Trolls. Discuss. For the adults in the crowd... C'mon. These guys work hard all the damn day, usually overtime, just to produce a game you can beat in 24 hours and whine about on forums. They fuel your rage. Give them some slack, seriously.

For the people who have pirated? Shame on you. Shame, shame on you for adding fuel to this fire just so you can stroke your "ego" while everyone freaks out. We get it: this is what you do when it is too cold to go out and kick puppies.

I am sure that the reasons for the delay are totally legitimate, but you have to admit that there is a certain level of what appears to be subterfuge going on. It's not that difficult to say, "See there's this part with a rock and with this bug, you get stuck on the rock. Well, about 5% of you will get stuck on the rock. It's really incredibly sticky."
The only reason I can see to be so secretive about the delay is that the issue is something that Bioware felt was important, but the sentiment may not be shared by everyone. Saying why the hold up only opens the can of worm of, "You delayed it for that?"
I was incredibly angry when this whole thing opened up. I really do feel let down and disappointed. I love this game. It is fantastic. Mr. G's books are amazing. I've said it before. You make a very good point for that. And i think this is the first time one of Bioware's team is making consistant dlc for one of there games. I know Mass Effect got dlc as well but i think that Dragon Ages dlc  is better in some way.
This is not the first time dlc by any company got delayed. And i am still playing Dragon Age so doesnt that matter.  To some companies they do learn on how to make sure to have the right dlc release date so lets just wait and i cant wait to loot and kill darkspawn

Meh.

Delays happen. In every aspect of life. When they happen in entertainment, I really cannot see a reason to get up in arms about it.

I work in the build environment. We have so many delays...

You dig foundations and find an ancient roman tombstone. So the whole site get's shut down and turned into an archeological dig. Then it starts raining, flooding the dig and turning the whole thing into a big pit of mud. So the digsite gets closed down till the weather gets better and you have pumped out all the water. At which point you realize you can't pump out the water because the drains in the street are clogged up and the city first has to send their lot to clean up that mess...

No, if I was to get worked up over something as minor as a DLC, then I think my head would explode on site tomorrow (4th day of demoltions that were supposed to only take 2 days).

It's a bit of entertainment. What real difference will it make if you watch a movie this friday and play the DLC the next instead of doing it the other way round?

And to be honest: I prefer waiting and knowing that I will get a quality product over getting possible garbage right now.

If you are smart you'll pre-order mass effect 2 and start replaying mass effect 1 so you finish the game and by the time you're done with mass effect 2 i'm sure RTO will be out

The only thing I'm curious about is why there is so much obscurity around this "issue" that popped up. I scratch my head wondering why Bioware can't simply explain the problem to the public rather then ducking corners and being as ambiguous as possible. Problems come up, pretty much everyone understand that it it's a part of life but why they simply don't say "___ and ___ weren't up to our standards and we are working hard to bring them up to our standards" I don't understand. There is no real harm that can stem from it and it would help put a lot of this nonsense and conspiracy to bed.

Because if they flat out told us there was a problem with the quest where Duncan comes back as a Darkspawn (a Duncspawn if you will) and that you wont get credit for killing him, then they'd be spoiling it for you.

Protip: Duncan doesnt actually come back as a Duncspawn (well, he might, I havent played the DLC, so I cant actually say), I was just using that as an example

:o
He can't be a Duncspawn, nobody could beat him and the DA game franchise would be ended in its infancy!

It's not Duncan? wait a second he is a rogue and he has the shadow skill? Hmmmmmm

Okay here's a valid question which I can't trace whether it was asked already.

Bioware, what will you do with those people who got the leaked RTO and had their profiles updated to reflect the achievement supposedly comes with this DLC?

IS NOT VALID

Why? because did you DL it? Did anyone else on this site DL it? The only users DL'ng it are people who did not buy the game. And it doesn't matter what  BW does to prevent them; they will still screw us all-over. meaning the ****s who DL a bootleg copy.

The savegames got corrupted when folks pirated Warden's Keep and tried to update online.

Pirates just won't update if they got half a brain. Sorta sad that they get to play and are done with it and we that want to pay gotta sit idly.

This line of conversation will definitely get the thread locked again, but save games have been getting corrupted even when people haven't downloaded anything that wasn't official. So corrupt games isn't really much of anything. It happens to everyone at some point apparently. (Well, not everyone but a lot of people.)

No, I'm only asking a question that deserves to be clarified so as to prevent this leakage and tolerance from happening again. Bioware should be firm to penalize those who got the leaked version regardless if they bought and registered the game. The associated accounts should be banned permanently, that serves them right!

If we are aware of people who are playing an illicit version of one of our games, and silly enough to update their profiles as evidence of such, they would probably be banned. Permanently. Not my call. But we're not going to keep you updated on that, because this isn't an appopriate forum to discuss piracy of any kind.

Is that understood? If you really have a concern about this, I suggest you contact our community co-ordinator, Victor Wachter.
