Out of curiousity...
I've got a char on hold (one who can put the hyped up armor to use) after the primary quests, just before that big main event in the city. (Phew, I hope that dodges spoilers.)

Would he still be able to give RtO a spin after said event, or should I just put him on hold until the release?

for RP purposes I would do RtO after the main quest. its better that way. its more like finishing an unfinished business.

Yeah feels like it'll be too early to do it before you rally the troops. If only I could play this dlc already. I can't wait!

(stuff)

Are you able to answer specific questions with regard to RtO?  There are a lot of questions that have been asked that have not been answered, and the reason is usually given that the person being asked is not privy to the answer.  With all due respect, the asking of questions has proven to be pointless given the various moderators' lack of knowledge about the DLC.  Would asking you about the status be any different?  Again, I ask this with all due respect.  What, exactly, do you know that you can tell us?

Hiya, that's a good question....

Sorry, I don't know anything.

All the moderators are community members like you. (ie, the badge just says the word "Moderator", the bioware employees have badges that say "Bioware" :-) ).

I have been visiting Bioware's forums for 9 years now (and Interplay's before that), and somewhere along the way Bioware asked me if I'd help them keep the forums nice and tidy... that's it.

Apart from the occasional christmas card they send, I don't have any special communication with them :-)

Thank you very much for the frank response!

9 days later and we're still pretty much in the dark.

This is quite possibly the strangest situation with any piece of software I have ever seen. From Bioware pushing back the release twice, to radio silence, to locking threads and posts that mention "That Which Shall Not Be Named", to community outrage, to people wanting others to get their accounts locked... this is really, really unusual.

:?

I've never seen anything quite like it.

It's quite weird, indeed.

lol, it seems that there might of been some major problem with the add-on that they don't want to release to the public. it would be nice to know the next release date though if it is only to dash my hopes once again. lol

Getting a DLC like RtO would be a great idea if you purchased ME2. It definitely is a hell of a lot better than just getting some vanity items like Blood Dragon armour.

If it does turn out that they'll postponed in order to release it with ME2 it will be the evilest thing I've seen, even eviler than Chris himself...

And you'll be fine.

They are just saying random words, there is no factual basis to their posts.

According to the many worlds theory, there are infinite worlds in which BioWare has already released RtO.  And there are infinite worlds in which they haven't yet released it.  We're on the unlucky side I guess...

I'm not sure when forums got so bad. I've been sitting here, scratching my head trying to think of something meaningful to say that would contribute to the conversation, and be brushed under the rug and ignored. But I remember my first forum community, the Black Isle forums. Surely some of us remember those. They seemed so much more... respectful there.

And I don't mean just respectful of one another, or even respectful of authority, but respectful of the artists who made this game for us to enjoy, and the medium in which they work. Now I'm as upset as anyone about the delays, I checked the Dragon Age main page as well as the forums every last day in December hoping I'd get to play.

But I've also been playing games a long time, and I know how Bioware works since I've bought every last one of their games the day of release. The bottom line is this: in two months, none of us gamers are going to care the DLC was delayed. Most of us here on this forum won't have downloaded whatever pirated version may or may not be out there out of customer loyalty. (And not even most customers in general, being law abiding citizens and all.) The only people who are going to remember this whole affair are people like David Gaider and Stanley Woo who are here day in and day out dealing with people who don't seem to realize there's a human being typing on the other end of that screen.

To illustrate this point further, let's have an example:
Let's say you're a sculpter. And you spend years building a masterpiece to put on display in the middle of the park in your town. The entire last year is just spent sanding it down, making sure it's aesthetically perfect. Then the big day comes, there's a huge ribbon cutting, and you feel great. But then something odd starts to happen. Every tenth guy who passes by your statue spits on it and curses your name. After a few weeks your glowing masterpiece is covered in a fine sheen of dried mucus. How would you feel?

The guy who walked by spitting on it forgot about it almost as soon as he did it.

Anyway, this has been long and rambling enough. Long story short: great game guys, you'll have my dollars for the DLC when it's good and ready. Don't let the jerks get to you.

Edit: Man, I am all about the typos this morning. Need to put some coffee on.

Anything that mentions food will either be deleted or edited.
References to quantum mechanics will join food once they wear out their welcome.
Do not take this as an invitation to be "clever".

I would rather Bioware resort to ambiguity with the release dates than missing almost every release date they'll set.. and then release without any notice like what happened with pinnacle station...

Looks like a track record to me. I'm hoping they streamline the DLC release process since they are going to be releasing a few

Yeah that would be okay, but you can no longer get the LCED at GameStop, well for the Xbox 360

They are also famous for not giving a release date in case they disappoint fans.
