Think of them as a parent. They let you know the rules. Watch over you and when you break the rules too much then they come down on you like a bat out of hell.
That's how it's supposed to work. However, what's happening here is that the parents are blowing up the house to punish the kids, which accomplishes nothing.
Anyway, there are quite a few rumors floating around about RtO being available very soon. I hope there is some truth to them.

If RTO was leaked either by an ex employee of bioware, or the servers got hacked as soon as RTO was uploaded, then only solution was to pull RTO and work on it (add extra content) to make it different from leaked version. This process would also involve getting the new RTO re-certified which takes time.
I'm all for Bioware taking their time over RTO whether it be due to a bug found, or be it through a leaked version of RTO....i want the real deal...not something hacked by a guy with one eye and a patch and one leg.
Now here's something that both the community and BioWare might like to watch. A video from a reviewer and community manager for games such as Assasins Creed, with his opinion on the whole approach to the delay of RtO.
As much as he says the community was wrong to spam 224 pages on a thread about it, he also says that BioWare has the wrong approach to the PR about it.

The guy has over 1 million views on this vids so he may know what he's talking about too.
It's interesting, though I'll point out that he posted this video on the same day as Fernando's update and probably prior to it. Still, point taken? Hopefully from both sides.
I like the guy's approach, and I found somehow reassuring that there are videos like these spotting around and about. Thankfully, there are many, many people interested in RtO and I really hope that this week will be the week we can all avenge Duncan and Cailan! For Ferelden!
Is it possible for you to divulge the most opportune time to explore this downloadable content? Like several in this thread, I enjoy approaching games from more of a "role-playing" vantage, and, as such, would greatly appreciate knowing when exactly this content ties in with the rest of the story.

I wish I could help you. I'm not part of the DLC team, so I can't really answer to its content or the planned release date. These are questions best posed to Fernando on the community update thread.
hope rto comes out soon i dont mind the delay so much. i started playing as dwarf noble this time around dont know if wanna be evil or good though... chances are ill prolly be a goodie goodie who knows ^^

Everytime I want to be evil...I just can't do it...I just can't. I guess it is not in my nature? Lol..I've tried though, I just end up good in the end. How can people do it?

I wished he made the video one day later. I wonder what he would said to that PR disaster.
But what mildly upset me is... I bought at 9th december, two weeks before Christmas 400 BioPoints in advance. Just in case there is a problem with payment during holidays. When it got first delayed I thought, well **** happens. When it got delayed at the day of the release I thought, code is a sticky thing. Better they fix it now than patch it later. Now my 400 BioPoints sitting for almost 5 week on my account and I don't even bear interest. I already expressed how I feel, but I guess Bioware feel screwed too. I must hurt sales and pride.
I found it easy to betray the Elves and the Magi. There's something eerily satisfying about being 'bad.'
I can't...that would mean the poor werewolves would be stuck like that..and I played a mage and I love magic and I can't betray them. I felt horrible betraying Jowan in my first run as a mage ><

i know i just cant be bad some people though i like killing though some well deserved punishment
Woops was about to go in depth but realized this is the no spoilers forum.
I'll just say that I always find it hard to be evil in games. I always try to save everyone and it usually annoys me when I can't. Although it almost seems like a trend where if you try to be "good" you don't get a happy ending. I like happy endings darnit!

lol yeah me too but now there are times when killing is fun i hate to admit it
Yeah, the truth is out there and some stupid ppl saying they're disappointed with it... that's rubbish!
It is well worth the price and the waiting when the real thing is out. I'm definitely buying it! 5 bucks is really cheap for RtO! It is a great DLC, awesome addition to the story either we play it with a post-game saved char or a ongoing one!
How can someone get disappointed with an extra content that adds a lot to the whole story, has an epic location revisited, very cool items and quest line and can be a flashback for an already dead hero? (if he sacrificed himself for Ferelden, like my main movie char did)
Oh there were instances in DAO where I took a great deal of personal satisfaction in killing an particular NPC. I didn't view that as evil though. I viewed it as justice. And maybe revenge. But mostly justice ... honest!
