Lastly, now that folks are returning back to the office from their holidays near and far, work resumes in earnest on console updates - the first of which should roll out with Return to Ostagar DLC, as well as the next PC patch (ETA to be confirmed). I'll try to get more details on the fix list for these in the next update, as everyone will be back in the office by then.
Thanks, and have a great weekend everyone.

The first console update has been tied to RtO when we announced its original date, so yes in that case with RtO slipping it also delayed the release of the update - we can't separate those at this point - but folks working on patches/updates continue plugging away on a new wave of fixes that didn't make it into the first update, independent of RtO/first update release.
I'd like to understand what you consider 'desperately needed'?
And if by level of support you mean a delay in the console update once it is tied up to a DLC pack then I expect they'll run into the same situation, as would any other developer, as this is an MS & Sony requirement at that point that they be sent to certification and need to pass together.

That they do. It's like there's a contest going on for shortest thread about RTO.
I won that one by miles, i had 7 replies then it got locked (Y) Good stuff. 1 of them replies was me and none of the others were serious, they all just said "incoming lock" and stuff like that

While I really respect everyone's option, I still insist that P's are those who make CD's or DVD's of something and sell them for profit and believe me, there are lots of them.

My name is P and I do not like you either
I am suprised this has not been locked yet since it is nothing but a snide remark in a long line of them made by the OP.
Warlord seems to want it locked as well. I see he is continuing his crusade of how the mods do everything wrong and are horribly unrespectfull people even after several times being told this is not the place and where to take his grievances too. (hint hint warlord its not here and like I said you are not solving anything you are as much of the problem as those you attack) You have been assualting them for days now and claim they are partaking in some sort of facist sensoring of these forums yet if that was true you yourself would have been banned and all your posts deleted.
The attacks, slander, snide and sarcastic remarks do nothing but get yet another thread locked. It is astounding to see those that are most against threads getting locked are mostly the ones that contribute to that making it happen.
Non of these things will get BW to release RtO faster or be more willing to talk with the community.

I have seen many spots where you could get around them and get free points or something here and there, and I stay away from those.
It was also just like Windows 7. I was a Beta Tester for it. When it came time, I removed the beta verision, went out and brought Windows 7.
I use to also a long time ago test for Altari, If I tested a game, gave them the feed back, when it was time, Brought the game.
Also remember this I was on the CEP Team for NWN, which ment I got the CEP to test long before others got to see it. Since I had to download it, and then put it in my mod. I had to be very careful of who also from my Mod got to test along with me. We would test then I would let Barry know what we found wrong so he could pass it on to fix it, and if it was a conflict between CEP and Bioware, that they could also be aware and fix it.
Think about it then, I could have Ped the CEP out to others long before CEP was released, but I wouldn't do that.

But that is just my opinion and hopefully Bioware can find the perpetrator and have some legal recourse.

After reading the first couple of pages of this thread I was going to write something similar, but you seem to have beaten me to it.
Speaking of beatings; It is nice to see so many of the the people who only whine and troll in one thread.

I've got better things I need to do, anyway, rather than lose sleep over 1 hour of gameplay.
What I do find interesting is that people who have been playing RtO haven’t been reporting any “quality” issues at all. It’s solid. Finished. Done. So… the real question now is; why did Bioware pull it at the last minute and why did they tell a white lie to the community?
I'm guessing it was a marketing decision of some kind.

That's exactly correct. You're not profiteering. They will take no legal action. At all. Zero.

Im really excited about the release though. Not because of the new content, but what the community's reaction will be. With all the thousands of whiny/complaint posts, several locked threads, numerous delays and false promises, and for a 15 minute DLC (ok fine, 1 hour DLC then) with rehashed content, and even news of pirated RtO, Bioware needs to release a very high quality, very satisfying, and very worthwhile Return to Ostagar. Because if not, hells gonna break lose. Everybody's gonna be disappointed and angry because of the amount of time they focused for the anticipation of a mediocre RtO.
PS: Is my post, thread lock-worthy enough?

I'm a bit curious if bioware will ever reveal what the bug was that caused the delay at a last minute. The curiosity is killing me
They won't. For there is no bug. Mark my words, When Rt:O will be released, no one at BW will say what bug caused it to be delayed for WEEKS when it was hours away from release. I can't really say what I think that, but it's the elephant in the room that's just calling for attention.
Now the following is just a guess but I believe they're trying to add content to RT:O before its live.
First RT:O is announced with a $5 price tag and one hour gameplay. People complain.
The price tag goes down to $3 but delayed a week or two, less people complain.
Then a few hours before release, its delayed for what may be a month and the price is back to $5. a lot more people complain.
I think they're trying to add something that will justify the $5 price tag without having anyone complain.
With ME2 almost released, and the dragon age expansion this year (maybe in 2 months if its not delayed) putting out a disappointing DLC may hurt sales in the long run. Delayed it a few weeks will cause 2 things
1) They have more time to make it better, increasing customer satisification and putting a higher price tag on it .
2) If the product is bad or not of the quality fans expected, It still will be released after ME2 so day one ME2 sales won't be hurt by disgruntled fans.
/flame shield on
If they really delayed it to add more content then it's rather smart as a business decision. But what are the chances content is being added?

To tell you honestly i really don't mind the wait, as long as it gets released and we can enjoy it and share our experiences on here with friends and strangers alike that makes up for the lost time all by itself. Also i find it's great that Bioware has employees who spend some time on here talking with us, i mean heck even David Gaider of all people. I'm in the middle of reading the books and i'm enjoying every minute. Mr Gaider you've made another fan of your books and i hope you write some more in the future since i'm hooked to the lore of Dragon Age.
I for one think Mr Gaider should stick to his day job

EDIT: Dennis, I'm referring to the one whom I quoted first, not you! Avoiding misundertanding. And some of his friends comments as well.
Thanks no offense taken and no misunderstanding, I just wonder why discussions of this nature even take place. Yes I have been in jail (for minor offenses) and have even lived on the street as a younger man so I am not perfect but in my early computer days I lived on limewire and such downloading everything I could get my hands on. Then it became illegal ot do that and since then I have downloaded nothing that wasn't legal or allowed by the person who created it. So knowing that act is in itself illegal why do it? It cant be to save a lousy $5 bucks and it cant be because you are so hooked on the game you just have to have it or have it first (given that maybe some psychological help might be needed). Dont flame me it is just an example and not directed at anyone in particular,so taking those two examples out of the equation why do it????????? And why does everyone get so defensive about something illegal.??????
Anyone answereing either of those would be interesting for me hope to see some intelligent explanations
Thanks everyone.

Zero? The DLC is done. People are playing it. It's completed. They're not going to waste man-hours adding arbitrary content when they don't have to. Bioware is sitting on it for a reason, likely a marketing one. They need to launch RoT when it's going to be most profitable.

I actually agree with what you guys did.I mean if you (Bioware) would have release that dlc with a major game crashing error people would have complained a lot more. But im curious about this dlc,how long is it?David Gaider wrote...
I'm not "shutting the mouth" of anyone. Your being here is proof of that. I closed the thread since warnings don't seem to last longer than the page they're on -- and the people who do continue to break forum rules by discussing pirated software will indeed be banned. In this case it's a situation of one bad apple spoiling the barrel. As it is, you're free to continue discussing the delay, aren't you?EricXIII wrote...
The lock decision you took was wrong from the begining..I dont think that more then 10 people were discussing the whole pirate sybject,so unless you wanted us to shut our mouths about the RtO delay you should warn/ban the guys that were breaking the rules.By closing it you shuted the mouths of those that truly wanted to discuss the matter of the delay and not of the pirated client of RtO
The DLC is 1hr played by first timer and 15 minutes played by developers as stated in a post long time ago. Or you can think of it this way. Warden's keep was $7, they priced RTO at $5 to reflect "value for money" so it probably plays around the length of warden's keep.
