DLC needs to be long enough, at least half the size of an expansion or more.
Take a step back and consider how short RTO is compared to the outcry over it's delay. Amazing!
Such a hue and cry for a very brief game experience

@Vilnii: They would hardly cost as cheap if they were half as long as an expansion, no? yes? maybe?

EDIT: I just realised that it's been a full week, 7 days, and we've heard nothing about when to expect RtO or what actually went wrong. Wow. That's pretty disheartening.

I would expect the next official update to be announcing that it is live and ready to download... I don't think they're going to risk having an incorrect release date again....

The perverbial will hit the fan if the Awakening expansion gets pushed back.

It hit the fan long time ago i think. They will just announce another DLC on the day they delay the expansion maybe some people will get distracted.

I think you might be right about that, Torias. It's such a shame. DLC for Bioware has always been such uneasy ground. Bring Down the Sky was, in my opinion, pretty good - but Pinnacle Station was terrible. Then there was the Day 1 DLC uproar with Dragon Age; people getting upset that Wardens' Keep wasn't included with a new purchase from retail; people having problems downloading DLC; problems with points and authentication issues...
...and now this. It's just been a bad run all-round, really. Bioware deserve kudos for endeavouring to support their games but it's been rough going. Oh the up side, it can only get better... right?

Well, it would seem logical that we might want to take with us some of the people who actually were there with us at the first time, not necessarily in our side too. This opens a few more possibilites of replaying it for a new experience, I'd say.

I agree...and I am personally willing to pay a little more to get entertained longer

ME2 is coming on 26th Jan and it should be enough for me to survive to DA:A.

I wonder how many people are in the same situation? Dragon Age, for me, will be shelved once Mass Effect 2 launches until the Awakening expansion. We can't be alone there. I honestly think Bioware is in danger of missing the boat with this.

With all the hurly burly and delays, RtO will probably still be fun, but feel like a massive let-down at the same time due to the wait.
people are not as excited anymore like the first time it was announced.

Which can be true for many people out there. I try never to get too anxious or set my expectations to high for anything.
It seems some people see a preview or snippet for some new game, movie, or whatever and think it is the second coming. Whatever it is could be released and could be very good but since they expected it to be world shattering kneel down and begin weeping at the sight of it good they are upset.

We all should be adults, since the game is 18+, so we should all be able to show some patience.
Though, I guess it's kind of a compliment that so many people are waiting so anxiously!

My only point is that we had to wait for an ign interview to get a real answer b/c Bioware didn't feel the need to tell their fans anything. Which is fine, most companies treat gamers like complete idiots. lol. They'll still get my money for RTO & Awakening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never got worked up having to wait. I was aggravated b/c they asked us to act like adults on the forums but refused to treat us like adults. I think waiting is also the better way to go so we can have a bug free game!

Bioware treated charisma as a dump stat.

Bethesda released the Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel with so many bugs as to render it nearly unplayable without using MANY console commands. Anywhere from a guy who will talk to you but not follow so that he can move to the next stage in the conversation to a robot that will not walk, thus stopping progress. The whole thing was such a debacle (with no patch available to fix it) that I entered the code to bypass the whole thing.
The point of this post is this - I would rather wait a month for RtO if it can be reasonably assured that it is relatively bug-free and an EJOYABLE play experience, rather than a piece of bug-ridden crap that does nothing without having to be hacked.

I was annoyed when I learned that RtO was delayed after paying my $5 for the points to get it. Rather than bringing yet another character up to the point of Redcliffe (to allow a seamless flow into RtO), I decided to resume playing Fallout 3. I had recently purchased all of the DLC available on disk, so it seemed like a good idea.

I'd agree with you, but people have been playing RtO for days. There's nothing wrong with it. At all. It's finished and from all reports completely bug-free. If there is a bug in RtO the people who have aquired it and who are playing it certainly haven't noticed anything.

Please dont mention the leak unless u want this thread to be locked. Everyone already knows about it. To some extent not many people believe that the release is held back because of a bug in the first place. Hopefully Bioware will let us know in the future what the real reason is even though they are not obliged to tell us.
