He wasn't out of line for telling the truth.  The Protheans DID aid in the evolution of the Asari.  Liara couldn't handle that.

There is no telling how much the Protheans actually had to do with the rise of Asari. As far as I can tell, Asari culture is VERY different from Prothean culture, so that's off the table. Of course Asari tech is based on Prothean/Reaper tech, but that's true for every advanced species in the MEU.

The Protheans also made them biotics and seeded their eventual rise by their meddling.

The Protheans didn't care about the culture and simply focused on whichever practical issues they deemed critical.

Them toying with evolution doesn't make Javik's words true. He's exaggerating.

@Mouton_Alpha: Culture does always adapt when you are dominated, intended or not. Even the Asari godess who seems to be based on a Prothean has in fact nothing to do with Protheans except her origins.

The Protheans have been ruthless conquerors. The Asari have their greatest achievements in diplomacy and civil rights. No matter what happened 50k years ago, the Protheans have hardly anything to do with Asari anymore.

Brought Javik to Thessia.

Supported Javik in the post-Thessia argument.

The entire galaxy is burning Liara, not just Thessia, why do you feel you deserve special treatment?

The entire galaxy is burning Shepard, not just Earth, why do you ask every soldier in the galaxy to defend it while their own homeworlds are burning as well?

:pinched:

Shepard isn't whining, shouting and crying when people say they can't help Earth yet. It's a fair trade. He helps them now, they help Earth later.

It's nothing at all like the Javik/Liara situation whereby she's completely calm and then Thessia gets attacked and she's in tears demanding Javik hold his tongue.

*sigh* Autodialogue sucks. Shepard's terracentrism really got on my nerves - particularly on Menae.

Then there was that "it's good to be home" line in London. No, Shepard, you're a colonist who's vocalized his intention to settle on Rannoch after the war. Earth is not, never was, and never will be "home."

It's not really about special treatment, as every race is primarly looking for themselves. It is about Liara behaving like a child that she is.

People can headcanon whatever they want, but my understanding was that Earthborn Shepard joined the Alliance to escape a miserable life in gangs. Neither of the other backgrounds seem to enforce a burning love for the homeworld. It just seems odd for Shepard to be so earth-centric after we spent the last two games going out of our way to ignore it. The player has no attachment to Earth, in-universe.

Sort of like how every Shepard is now an Alliance sycophant.

Shepard usually has no emotions (horrible exception: the child) because he/she is our player character which we are supposed to roleplay. Every other character in the game is more or less emotional, well, excuse Liara for being emotional about her homeworld burning.

Better whining than suicide btw. *points at another character that does not get that much hate*

Liara probably is the relatively youngest squaddie we have, maybe besides Tali. At the same time, she holds the most responsibility of all of them except Shepard him/herself. She is the Shadow Broker who has to look after her agents, the Crucible project and the war in general, she is part of the scientific division, and in her free time she joins Shepard in the frontlines. Talk about stress.

Difference is, the Asari aren't extinct, and they aren't killed off as a direct result of Shepard's actions (or lack thereof).

It's funny how Shepard can exterminate the Quarians (or Geth, or Rachni) without batting an eyelash, doom the Krogan and lie about it to the entire crew for most of the game, lie to Wrex's face about it, then lie to C-Sec after killing Wrex... but gets emotional about, and assumes responsibility for the fall of Thessia, apologizing to the representative of the government that brought this on themselves by hiding the beacon for their own selfish purposes.

The final battle to deliver the Crucible, and all casualties incurred therein, can be laid squarely at the matriarchs' feet.

Yes, as a symbolic way of kicking back against forced-Liara squadmate status (4th time in the game).

(Part of) Mars, (Part of) Palaven... ?  What else?

Thessia. The other would be From Ashes dlc if you choose to buy it or play it.

Whats funny is when you get to Earth, you aren't forced to use a human for Priority:Earth. Why is that?  You always have James with you. But yet you have to use T'Soni for Thessia, Garrus for homeworld and Tali for Rannoch

After Mars, she spends her time figuring out what the device does. She would've been better served working with Hackett and put an ME2 squadmate(Miranda back in HER office).

It sucks my femshep doesn't have the option to send T'Soni to Hackett or to tell not to come aboard.

Meh, I didn't see it as anything against Liara.
I just saw it as taking a dump on lies that plagued the Asari people for thousands of years.

A lie that could have helped in beating the Reapers before they came.

Whitch is why you can never trust a Xeno!
