Anyways, sometimes javik's attitude makes me want to let him re-experience his memory shard...you know, just to troll him back

The entire galaxy is burning Liara, not just Thessia, why do you feel you deserve special treatment?
The entire galaxy is burning Shepard, not just Earth, why do you ask every soldier in the galaxy to defend it while their own homeworlds are burning as well?

I'm largely indifferent to it by now.
Yeah, you could argue the reaction is a little overblown, subjective to how much you like Liara and Javik, but entirely justified in my opinion.
Not to sound dramatic, but Liara has kind of had her whole world ripped from under her in a pretty uncompromising way by someone who, yes whilst telling the truth, has absolutely no tact or really any right to be this smug.

People can headcanon whatever they want, but my understanding was that Earthborn Shepard joined the Alliance to escape a miserable life in gangs. Neither of the other backgrounds seem to enforce a burning love for the homeworld. It just seems odd for Shepard to be so earth-centric after we spent the last two games going out of our way to ignore it. The player has no attachment to Earth, in-universe.Steelcan wrote...
A good reason to be Earthborn!
Sort of like how every Shepard is now an Alliance sycophant.
Yep, agree completely.

You don't have to be a dick when you're telling the truth.
Javik doesn't live in "his" cycle anymore. He needs to learn tact.
+1, as much as I loved talking to the guy ( out of pure curiosity about his race and blablabla) I hatted his wearebetterthananyofyou attitude. I just can't stand "wearesuperiortoyouall" ppl.
+ just my opinion, but can't shake off the feeling that ppl in this ( talking about ppl that don't like Liara ) case like Javik just because it's Liara he trolls, not because his attitude is ok. Anyway just MO.
That very well could be, but I see no difference in supporting Javik because you dislike Liara than those who support Liara just because she is their waifu or because Javik is just a big meanie-pants.
I didn't choose Javik because of my dislike for Liara. I don't dislike her, I don't find her to be anything interesting or special, but I don't dislike her. I chose Javik because she barged into his room and provoked an argument for no reason and then got offended when the situation didn't fall into her favor.
I didn't tolerate histrionics when it was Miranda vs. Jack, I didn't tolerate histrionics when it was Tali vs. Legion. Liara is not special in that regard.

I think Javik is an awesome character and I took him to Thessia.
I did however, support Liara during the argument. You need to use a light touch when you are dealing with people who are grieving, and Liara just watched her home planet fall to the Reapers. How many of her friends or relatives were likely among the dead or dying?
Plus, he did basically just tell Liara that the Athame Doctrine, easily one of the biggest religions to the entire Asari species (Athame is the goddess that all the Asari reference when they say "by the Goddess" or similar), is a lie...

A point delivered poorly is no point at all.
I think he delivered his point fine. It's just that Liara probably couldn't emotionally handle anything other than "Yeah, you know, Protheans might have helped you just a SUPER-TINY bit, but your species is SO AWESOME AND GREAT that you would have done all of this without our help, so, yeah... By the way, Shepard thinks you're cute."

You know Garrus kinda says some of the same things about Athame being a prothean, etc to Liara too. And if you're like me and take Garrus all the time Liara's accusation towards Javik post Thessia are completely out of line.
I think everyone does. I took Kaidan and Ash and both pointed out the similarities. I'm guessing Tali, James, and EDI do as well.
