Just reached fort locke with my latest character and realized the swamp cave somehow didn't get added to my overland map. Is there any console command to make it pop up or am I going to have to restart? I want that weapon, but don't have a save from before weeping willow to try and make it trigger again.

edit: just realized the weeping willow is no longer on the map either. Decided to just restart as scripting anything this early might cause problems down the road, but if anyone knows a command for this I'd still like to know it for future difficulties.

the script you'd want to run (from the console) is ka_hotspot_show in the OC. Like:

rs ka_hotspot_show("name_of_hotspot")

I think it's slightly different for MotB etc. The names are found using the WorldMap editor under plugins in the toolset, opening .Wmp files from the campaign folder. You can see some examples, and how prevalent non-showing hotspots are, by searching google w/ "site:social.bioware.com nwn2 ka_hotspot_show" ...

/cheers.

thanks for that, as I restarted and now the graveyard disappeared. never had this problem before, very annoying. I'll give this a shot.

edit:
More annoyances, as attempting to launch the toolset crashes immediately each time even in compatability mode or run as administrator. So now I have a couple more questions. If I have NWN2 Gold for OC and MotB, and Storm of Zehir installed, is the toolset launcher I'm supposed to be using still the one under ProgramFilesx86/Atari/Neverwinter Nights 2? (windows 7).

If so, then can anyone tell me how (if there is a way) to backup my campaign progress for the various characters I have going now before I do a full re-install?

edit the 2nd:
found a post on backing up characters before re-install, so I'm just going to do that.

I've got NwN2 gold + SoZ D2d on winXP

need Dx9.0c and .NET 2.0 ( 3.5 works )

To backup, just rename your MyDocs\\NwN2 folder (localvault and saves folders are important, so are Override and UI folders, modules, campaign, hak, music, portaits, etc. for custom content). idk, you can just rename the player folder there; however there shouldn't be anything special in the installation folders ( unless you put something in ). always have a look and don't take my words for it ;)

yeh ... uninstall, update windows, use something like CCleaner for a quick registry check and more importantly a harddrive cleanup. Then defrag, install the game and one expansion at a time, loading and playing for a few minutes between each, just to get things to settle into place. After -all- that you'll probably have to manually update to v1.23.1765

There's a good link for patching stickied up in General forum, and i do any number of defrags during this process to keep things packed in nice.

Well, I did the re-install for nothing, turns out I just didn't know how to use the launcher! I always launched game from shortcut that didn't lead to launcher. The re-install didn't do anything to fix it, but I found the link to the launcher which enabled me to use the toolset to get the location names I needed to make your first suggestion work, and it did, so all is going smoothly again. In the process I realized I had some textures not turned up, so now the game looks better too.

All in all, worth the hour or two of messing around, thanks for your help kevL!
