Also the straight DPS argument is sorta putting aside the fact that the Wraith is more accurate, and is more likely to land all of its pellets than the Claymoar, thus more likely to achieve its theoretical DPS.

Hmm.. what if... with a full damage spec GI, Warp IV, primed by a biotic power, prox mine, tac scan and recon mine?

Don't forget the +800%dmg from thermal clips, that's the key.

Ash has been saying this since...well ever pretty much. I remember him extemporizing on the virtues of the Wraith back when most of the BSN thought it sucked for some weird reason.

Nothing says "I'm a console scrub" better than "Wraith > Claymore".

The Wraith is not even close to being on the Claymore's league.

Fact 1 : The Claymore does a lot more damage

Fact 2 : A reload canceled Claymore fires almost as fast as a Wraith

Fact 3 : You can hide the Claymore's reload with every single power in the game. Then your efficiency goes through the roof because you're pretty much always dealing damage. You typically have to reload only once before the cooldown's up. Or not at all if you have grenades. Do this with a Wraith. Oh wait, you can't.

Fact 4 : A Claymore can OHK Ravagers. Really useful when you just happen to bump into one. With a Wraith, that Ravager will have time to fire before it's dead. Also a lot easier to OHK Phantoms. And with a Drell/Batarian Adept, you can OHK Brutes. Yeah, Brutes. 

Fact 5 : The Claymore doesn't have an awkward fire delay

Fact 6 : The Wraith is for girls. The Claymore is for men. 

Fact 7 : Cooldowns are overrated. If you care that much about them, use an Arc Pistol.

Fact 8 : Why do I bother arguing with scrubs ?  There's a reason why every single Wraith apologist are on xbox.

Clearly that was an eviscerator, and the Wraith is even more badass than that.
So... win.

Also where SP makes Shepard out to be a lot less badass, he was running away from a few Ravagers, while Grunt solos them with an Eviscerator and melee without an omniblade.

They are meant for different tasks, Wraith is better on casters.  However, if the class's powers are crap, then the Claymoar makes the class viable.

The claymoar really does make any class efficient, but there is a point where a class would be more efficient if it was able to cast more.  In this case, the powers make up for the ~8% weapon DPS that the class loses switching from Claymoar to Wraith.

He fired 3 shots and almost got killed. Wrex fired one shot and kicked the crap out of Ravager sacs.

Think of it like how a caveman thinks a big rock is a more effective weapon than a firearm. The pro-Wraith side can see all of the advantages it has, the pro-Claymore side can only see *smash!*.
