I can aim fairly well, but the few times a match I miss the shot with the claymore and standing there reloading with the enemy still alive is such a terrible feeling.
Heavy melee.

I like both wraith and claymore, but I think claymore is much easier to use.
I don't like that delayed feeling of wraith between shots.

I don't either, but I still prefer it to the Claymore. Were reload cancelling more efficient on the Xbox, maybe I'd change my mind, but as is, I prefer a lightweight, 2-shot shottie.

reload canceling is a lot easier on Xbox than people think, since you have such a heavy gun, you can press a power button while its cooling down, sprint, light melee, evade, switch weapons,or cast a power. Much easier than people think, easy as holding forward and pressing A

I actually am aware of this, but the problem is that sometimes I don't want to move in any direction to reload cancel; generally when I do that though, I roll to the side. I like the Geth for this reason; you want to reload cancel, just hop once to the side, and you're done. I'd still rather have a reload cancel that didn't involve anything moving, though.

Oh god, Reegar isn't even a shotgun! It is basically just an amplified electroshocker. Claymore at least sounds like a weapon.

People continue to love on the Talon in this thread... Either of the titular Shorties destroy the Talon against bosses or singular enemies, and only surpasses, hem in crowd control thanks to clip size. Don't get me wrong: I love the Talon, maybe the best pistol (more contenders for that throne lately); it is not a shotgun even if it shoots like one

it's good when I care about weight/don't want to burn shotgun amps

Pretty much. I noticed you can actually get very small pellet spread from hipfiring the Raider. Smart choke + HM accuracy bonuses = medium range shotgun.
did you ever try them on a turian with marksman active?UnknownMercenary wrote...
I never bother "aiming" with the Raider or Piranha.
Still prefer the Claymore though. Ol' reliable.

Can't believe I missed this. This is simply not true.
With decent equipment the Talon can one-shot most foot soldiers on Gold (you need to get headshots) additionally, naked it has somewhat lower sustained DPS to the Claymore and Wraith but unlike those two, it gets a 1.5x multiplier to shield and barrier damage (which makes up 1/3-1/2 of Boss health) can equip a more damaging mod (40% vs. 25%) and can increase it's clip size (thus increasing sustained DPS) all of which lead to it actually being better vs. Bosses than either of those two weapons.
There is only one aspect in which the Claymore/Wraith are better than the Talon and that is the fact that they can use a smartchoke while the Talon requires hard cover (or a scope) to get a relatively high level of accuracy.
