This is my first online multiplayer game. As an older female gamer I was really intimidated to even try ME3 MP. My first time playing I solo'd bronze because I didn't want to burden a team. (I didn't even kill one cannibal before dying and getting stomped in wave 1, lol.) I spent hundreds of hours on Bronze, convinced I'd never be good enough to play silver, let alone gold. But slowly I learned the keys to success by reading the forum, watching vids and friending lots of really great people who helped me play less like an old, peg-legged n00b. At this point I'm decent, probably average by BSN standards, but nowhere near 1337.
MOI123 really inspired me to try for the Lone Wolf achievement and the FemShep BotB banner beckoned like the promised land, but though I could solo bronze and silver, gold seemed nearly impossible. Convinced my favorite kits would be too squishy, I tried the "easymode" Kroguard/Reeger and died... and died... and died. (Curse you, Banshee sync kill!) Then banshees_heart said: "I know you like TSent, I'll do a gold solo to show you how it's done." And his video was a revelation. Suddenly, I realized that I should trust myself to know how to play my favorite kit and not struggle with an unfamiliar playstyle just because everyone else says kit X is "easy."
I respecced my TSent into a weapons platform and readied up.
Tech Armor 4 Durability
Warp 6 Damage, Expose, Pierce
Overload 6 Chain, Neural Shock, Shield Damage
Passive 6 Stability, Power Damage, Stability
Fitness 4 Durability
Harrier V (Mag and HVB), AR rail amp III, AP ammo IV, Cyclonic IV, Armored Compartments V
FB Ghost/Reapers
Objectives were Devices, Devices, LZ hack. Devices were actually easy. In wave 3 I capped them all before seeing an enemy. In wave 6 minimal shooting was required to kill the lone Marauder hanging out at one of the devices. Died in the hack circle for staying too long but was able to kite and got it done in two circuits of the map. I celebrated my extraction by shooting the 7 extra rockets into the oncoming hordes. Take that!
My time? A truly hideous 82 minutes.
Yes, I hide too much. 
Anyway, for those of you who are struggling with soloing Gold, take a page from MOI123's book -- never give up! If I can do it, you can too! If Kroguard, Huntress or Geth Trooper aren't your style, play your favorite kit.
