I would be very happy if DA:I came on next gen consoles alongside current gen. I know it's all speculation at this point but the PS4 is due for release during the holiday period end of this year.

The stuff that was shown on there made me drool in my mind over what the next DragonAge would look like on next gen. I remember at PAX someone asking the panel about beng able to share moments from the game and with the PS4 and its control pad that will be a reality now should the functionality make it into the game.

thoughts, opinions?

Well I hope not, they are forcing so much social network features into the PS4 I'd hardly call anything single player for that platform.

wasn't Dragon Age 3 slated for a late 2013 release? (as you can probably tell haven't really played dragon age) so could very well be a next gen game for both xbox/ps4

The PS4 looks fantastic. Wonder what the 720 could cook up to compete. Most of all I'm just worried about my saves. I really want that Share functionality, but going from 360 to ps4 would definitely mean losing my save. Even going from 360 to 720 could mean losing my save, but it's not as 100% likely.

What the crap do I dooooo? xD

It's all speculation until Sony and Bioware reveal more but I would assume those features come at the discretion of the studio and also at that of the player playing the game (I hope). I wouldn't want everything forced but would be happy if options were there.

I'm sure Sony will take advantage of their cloud computing technology and allow people to transfer stuff that way. If not immediately at launch than eventually. There are other ways round stuff like that ie Mass Effect 2. But I guess that would mean you couldn't bring your customised warden and Hawke across (if they make an appearance). Guess we will just have to wait and see.

No release date has been given. For all we know, DA] I [ might be the last game to appear on current gen consoles.

DA:I was never going to be a Sony exclusive. Why was anyone expecting it to be announced at a PS4 live event? A new Killzone game, sure. That's going to be a PS4 exclusive.

When DA:I does get its official press release announcement (complete with some of that good old REAL info we on the BSN are so obviously straved for), I expect EA/ BioWare will be doing the announcing.

Toggles or no, knowing EA's obsession with Everything Online™, a lot of features could make it into the game using up resources what could have been used for more deserving ones.

I'd trade live streaming my gameplay for bowstrings any day.

I sure hope it's not next-gen exclusive. If I can't play it on a 360, it'll be a while before I buy DA:I.

I hope it's on next gen so that the PC version doesn't fells constrained by 7 year old hardware.

Hardwer limitations aren't the only problems the 'playing it safe, pleasing everybody, the last part of a trillogy must be accessible, pre-order bonuses and DLCs everywhere, online pass' industry is having regarding game quality.

I didn`t get why they can`t run ps3 games on ps4 BUT they are trying to make that feature work online instead. Meaning: people will have to buy their ps3 games all over again. I sure as hell don`t hope the next xbox does the same thing.

Also, if PS3 games won`t run on PS4...how will importing stuff into DA:I be able to work on that console?

Didn't they do something similar with the PS3, where the initial run could play PS2 games, but they later removed that capability?  I seem to recall hearing something like that.  Seems ridiculous to me...my PS2 could play all my PS1 games (though admittedly a couple were a bit bugged, Legend of Dragoon being the one that comes to mind.)

Honestly, the PS4 seems to be everything I wouldn't want in a console (not that I really want a console anyway.)  Since it supposedly "gets to know you", I wonder if it would get to know that I hate all that social garbage and uninstall it.

Hehe, yes. Makes me wonder if we will ever get to play a video game in "peace and quiet" ever again.

I'm getting a feeling that they're going to release DA3 for both current-gen and next-gen consoles. I noticed some of the games announced were being released for both PS3 and PS4 so the same should happen with Xbox. I do know i'm not to happy with all the social aspects that seem to be making its way to consoles.

Bioware has never actually said Dragon Age is a trilogy, it could amount to any number of future games depending on how well said future copies sell. So technically there could be any number of hardware leaps inbetween future games.

Yeah, pretty sure David Gaider said Dragon Age won't be a trilogy and was never planned to be a trilogy. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing quite a few Dragon Age games if things go well for the franchise.:)

Not quite true, Eaglefan is right. The devs have repeatedly said, again and again, that they're aiming for a late 2013, which is fiscal year 2014, release.

BioWare is not the industry. And other developers made trillogies in recent years too.

I'm just saying better rig for shinier graphics won't matter if some stupid design decisions still continue to exist.

Don't forget Evil/Arts will do anything they can to make money, so an exclusive wouldn't be in their best interest.

As for this social-detritus crap, it better NOT be included with the PC version, or *no-sale*!!
