The graphics bit looked very good. Everything else seemed damned intrusive, to be honest. The fact that you can`t play PS3 games on it makes it a no buy for me.

I'd heard about that. It certainly doesn't give it many points in my favor, either. I mean, I have a PS3 but I'd rather not have to unplug and plug in systems constantly.

Plus, once they ditch ps3 entirely, most of your games are screwed.

Another thing I noticed was the Facebook bit. Now given that Sony screwed up the security for user accounts last year, I sure as hell wouldn`t want them to have access to my Facebook account.

Yeah it remind me of portal too...the general idea.
Maybe a more "poetic" setting though.

Truth be told, none of them. Watch Dogs maybe is the best choice for me but since its coming out for three consoles it doesn't matter much if its on the PS4.

im intrigued to see how Destiny turns out. it sounds pretty ambitious. no PC version is a damn shame, though.

Also inb4 you fixed the formatting. :D

I'm hoping Destiny fails, honestly. Bungie's comments about why it's not getting a PC release are just arrogant and stupid.

What comments, do you have a link to an article?I'd like to see waht they had to say.

“We did a bunch of ambitious things on Halo deliberately to reach out to
people. We limited players to two weapons, we gave them recharging
health, we automatically saved and restored the game – almost heretical
things to first-person shooters at the time. We made the game run
without a mouse and keyboard. And now nobody plays shooters the way they
used to play them before Halo ’cause nobody wants to.

I was very curious about Deep Down (working title). Capcom's take on Dark/Demon Souls with a greater social element?

Watch Dogs didn't dissappoint either.

If I'm honest, though, I was kinda hoping to see Laidlaw on stage at some point. ;)

Given how "social" ps4 is, I wouldn`t be surprised if you are forced to be online at all times when using it.

I'll be really interested to see some big RPGs on the next gen consoles soonish (hoping for E3). The big let down for me was Agni's Philosophy - it still looks great Square but, it looked great 6 months ago.

I'm interested to see if RPGs become significantly shorter this generation. There are still the epics of course but it could be interesting to see if the general bar for a big RPG gets lowered to 20 hours rather than 30-40 to correspond with ageing gamers and changing culture.

I got a sense that it's more like "an offer you can't refuse" proposition, meaning you wouldn't need to be online however the enrichment of the game experience to be had by being so would influence the consumer to be connected.

Time will tell.

Why is it that I'm now picturing this happening with Laidlaw in a smoking jacket with the opening lyrics to the song, "Stayin' Alive" in my head?

Y'know come to think of it, EA wasn't there at all. Isn't that a first?

From what I understand , yeah it was the first time EA wasn't there...
(The gaming journalist talked a bit about it in the after show).

Is it just me or it felt like the audience fell asleep along the way?
Nobody was cheering , maybe it's normal , don't know.
But I wouldn't want to be those guy on stage...

Y'know Rez, we live in such a socially connected world these days that it may have been a bunch of journalists buried in their laptops, tablets, and phones getting their tweets, screens caps, thoughts and such out to the gaming public as soon as possible. All serious business.

Deep road for my number 1 and watchdogs looks like a modern day assassins creed as my 2 now if they had shown DA3 that would've been my 1-10 lol

I was disappointed BioWare and DA3 didn't make an appearance. When they started talking about how they were teaming up with a developer known for their awesome stories I got excited, then it turned out to just be Blizzard.

Anyway, from what I saw, I'm excited for Infamous Second Son and Destiny. I was hoping the next Infamous game would let you create your own superhero to play as, but it still looks rather cool. Don't know if I'll be getting Destiny on the Playstation, but as a massive Halo fan I'm interested in any news on the game.

Watch Dogs also looked like it could be cool.

Edit: Almost forgot, the next Killzone is also looking good. Hopefully the multi is as fun as the last one.

Has it been confirmed that the PS4 will be 1080p native for games? I sure hope so. I might be tempted to get it if so, otherwise the image quality of games on PC just destroys 720p consoles.

Me too, but not to disappointed because I wasn't expecting Bioware to say anything about DA3 anyways, but it would've been a nice suprise. Hopefully we'll see something soon.

Infamous: Second Son was my biggest squee moment, followed by Watch Dogs. I'd be more interested in Deep Dive if it was made by some one other than Capcom. Blizzard's announcement was a huge let down, I was so hoping they were going to bring StarCraft Ghost back from the dead, but no, just a crappy D3 port.

Destiny's a huge interest. I haven't owned a Playstation since my PSOne back when the only game I had for it was Bubsy 3D, but The Witness I thought was delightfully whimsical and pretty and I'm sad I'm not quite rich ENOUGH to own all three next-gen consoles to get ahold of it.

I understand where you're coming from but Dragon's Dogma was quite enjoyable-- unexpectedly so.

I really like the idea of Watchdogs, and Killzone 3 sure looks purdy.

With an 8 core APU and 8 gigs of GDDR5 ram, it should handle 1080p native and then some.

Personally, I think the writer of that article (and perhaps you as well) are reading between the lines, and twisting his words a little.

I don't even think his comments are particularly arrogant - they are true.  Halo:CE had a great deal of features which were very outlandish compared to FPS standards at the time, and which immediately became integrated into virtually every FPS made following (e.g. regenerating health, 2 weapons limit, weapons balanced much more than old school FPS games, exclusive grenade AND melee buttons rather than having to cycle to them or have them take up a weapon slot, vehicular combat set-pieces etc.)

Heck - Aliens:CM got bashed by a few reviewers recently for allowing you to carry every weapon in the game, which now seems to be considered outdated, broken, and confusing by modern standards.

Also - Halo WAS originally a computer game (albeit, for Macs), and only became a console game in the last part of its long development cycle because Microsoft bought Bungie.  Halo was also released on the PC after the Xbox, and it bombed (same with Halo 2).

If Destiny isn't coming to the PC - it's because it has been considered, and a decision has been made that it won't turn enough profit over to make it worth their time - the same thing could be said of Halo 3, ODST, and Reach (though I'm sure elements of that were Microsoft stepping up the rivalry with Sony, making their top selling games even more exclusive).

Apart from Destiny and Watch Dogs which have already been announced so I'm going to pretend they don't count, I'd have to say Deep Down. I mean fire breathing dragon creatures always get me.

In all honesty I thought everything looked cool even things like Uncharted and Killzone which I'm not into. (Mainly because I have owned a Xbox and Xbox 360)

I really can't wait to see what Microsoft brings out now I hope its as good as the PS4.
