The best games for me were the multiplatform ones.

The PS4 looks good but the fact it's not backwards compatible means I can't really buy it day 1. I prefer Microsoft's exclusives so until there is a Yakuza game, it will be the new Xbox for me. Unless Microsoft screw their event up :P

Right now, all Microsoft need to say at their event to make me pre-order their console is: 'gamertags and score carry over, all downloaded content will work and all 360 disc games will work'.

Watch Dogs looks amazing. I like the look of Destiny and the Capcom game too.

Deep Down could be amazing. Which to me is wierd, I'm not the biggest modern-day Capcom fan. Although Dragons Dogma was quite good. Knack might be fun kinda looks like an old psx, n64 type platformer. Watch Dogs looks good but I'm still not sure its going to work that good(could get old real fast). I think its going to be one of those you have to play to know.
Cant wait for e3 and finally some ram in a console I always felt they should of had at the very least 1gb(2gb max for that time) ram when they were released.

Actually I'm not really surpised the PS4 is simply rebooting their game library.

It's a pain to build an emulator and expect every game to run on it right. Going back a bit, but look at NFS Underground. Played the hell out of it on Xbox but it can't run worth crap on the 360 without tearing issues.

Sure they could try and build backwards compatiblilty into it and have a bunch of outdated depricated functions floating around to keep old stuff, but the longer they do that the more the systems start to look like Windows OS compatibiity mode.

When the announcer started talking about this huge publisher who always pushes the envelope or whatever, I was so sure he was talking about EA. No EA came on, no DA3 info. I was sad =\\

You guys and your "show, don't tell" marketing policy have officially made me sad during the unveiling of a new console. I totally think we need to be shown something right about now. Cause I was sad yesterday. Yeah. Totally not hyped for the idea of DA3 on a possible PS4 in my living room this winter or anything. Not at all. I'm sad and need more info.

^^

I suppose The Witness looked pretty cool. Had me sold by "the guy who did Braid."

I think it's kind of weird that some of these games are getting a PS3 AND a PS4 launch.
That tells me they won't be as ground breaking as they could be.

The reason the PS4 isn't backwards compatible is because the system's architecture is RADICALLY different than what was in the PS3. The neXtbox has the same problem, but to a lesser degree. It's doubtful that it will have full backwards compaibility unless it's through a service like Sony, but not impossible I suppose.

Evening all,

Hope you’re all having a wonderful night and had a chance to watch the PS4 announcement. I’m curious, which game reveal from the show did you like the most and why?

I thought Destiny has tons have potential and Watch Dogs looks like a LOT of fun! Deep dive had lovely warm flames that I could roast marshmallows over :)

Deep Down - or whatever the name of the game will be when released - caught my eye.

DriveClub looked very nice (though admittedly I'm not into racing sims outside of the Wipeout series).

And Killzone. Good God almighty I want it. I want it now.

Also, I will lol so hard if Stan comes in and locks the thread for not being DA related.

If I had to be honest in which game I'd probably enjoy, most likely The Witness. Presentation wise, watch dogs imo out shined anything else.

The PS4 itself didn't inspire me  (well the information I mean, a console reveal without a console... righhhht :P)  The controller touchpad looks like another gimick.  Not sure how that will make my games any better and as for the social function, I will quickly be on the turn-off button for that!  I dont't want to know about boring screenshots and achievements from my friends games I have no interest in.

But I digress,  Im quite interested in Destiny the most.  Watchdogs looks interesting, but something isnt striking the right chord with me about it. Will wait and see.

The Capcom game and Killzone 4. Killzone always looks great and I hope the Capcom game was Dragon's Dogma 2.

Agreed.  Having that screen glaring at you all the time would just irritate the hell out of me.

I also don't like the fact they didn't mention how much it was going to cost.  Did they forget, or are they afraid of the backlash?

That said, although the games they showed didn't do much for me,  the next Gran Turismo (if they make one) might look interesting.

I like the idea that we will be able to take in game pics, I'm not a very social gamer but the way Sony is handling the social side of gaming has me intrigued.

I was going to say "not DA I related" before I realized who made this! :P

In that case, I didn't actually see it. The only game I saw was Watch Dogs, which looked absolutely fantastic.

I certainly wouldn't mind if Bioware did a game set in the present day...*whistles innocently*

Watch Dogs, I guess? Meh. Not getting a PS4 anytime soon. Not really interested in anything it has to offer yet.

Sony is soooo frikin tacky. Who reveals a product without the actual fruits of labor? This reveal was just a cheap ploy to get a head-start in hype before Microsoft. Unscrupulous marketing tactics like this just make me happy I haven't owned a playstation since ps2. Hopefully microsoft will take their time, do it right, and present the whole shebang properly.

If Destiny is a "mmo" for the consoles it'll be interesting to see how they make that stick in their compulsion loop.

Dust 514 is trying to be an MMOFPS on the PS3, but that has the tie in to EVE-O

Deep Down:  Probably the most intriguing because I"d never seen it before.  I like characters with torches going somewhere dark and ominous.  And the shield against the sustained dragon flame has always been a cool image. So I liked the atmosphere of the game.
Watch Dogs: I've seen this at last E3 (or some show), and this video was no better than that video.  So my reaction was "Yeah.  Watch Dogs.  I was already looking forward to that."
Destiny: So there's not a lot of info on this yet.  But the environments look cool.  I'm curious to see how many people will be on the screen at  a time, how the server tech works and what their idea is behind how full or empty they want areas to feel.  And I want to see more about what the classes are like and what sort of customization there is.

Watch Dogs looks the most interesting to me, but that's because I'm a tech freak. Dragon Age and Witcher games are the only Fantasy games I can actually enjoy. Reckoning is pretty cool too, but it's too weird to really be considered a fantasy

They definitely upped it from the PS3, the system definitely sounds like it'll last a hell of a lot longer. No backwards compatability just means I won't buy it from the gates, but definitely picking it up maybe next summer. Definitely never buying an Xbox at launch again after what happened to mine last launch. As for the games, only Watch Dogs really appeals to me, looks fun. Will probably also pick up The Last of Us when I can.
