I think even a raptor X with a level III SR amp and incendiary ammo takes three to five headshots to kill a mook on gold.

The Raptor is more of a scoped AR than a aniper. It works quite well on a SI, especially against Geth. Energy drain to strip shields, disruptor or incendiary ammo to prime and ED again to detonate. There are of course much better sniper rifles. My point is that the Raptor can be used on Gold if you really have to.

They don't kick me. These people are nicer than I am. I ready up. What am I going to wait for? I already know how I'm spending my points. 11.4 second tactical Cloak. I'm not an idiot. If they're going to let an N7 9 play again, I'm going to not die. It's the least I can do.

The Raptor I doesn't do s*** on Gold. If I could have stopped what I was doing, shaken the weapon, and yelled "What the f*** is wrong with you!?" at it, I would have. Headshots... did nothing.

I cryoed everything. Might as well make myself useful. It's the least I can do, I'm heavy to carry. I don't even know the PS 3 controller. The buttons are upside down. Some of you know what I mean. I go to shoot, I throw a grenade. I go to throw a grenade, I shoot. Sometimes it accidentally works. I actually blow up quite a few Phantoms.

Only managed a 50 Assist medal, but I only went down a few times, and I did my Tactical Cloak Revive duty. It was the least I could do. Other than cryoing everything. And not dying. I guess I could have done less.

Thanks, whoever you were. This PuG likes having 89K credits for 25 minutes work. I mean other people's work.

I enjoy all things Krogan and smashy. Next time I will try not to be using a peashooter. With the RNG gods, we'll have to see how that goes.

I like the raptor X on gold but I don't use it often because is heavy on the trigger finger ... Still you'll get much better results with SI (energy drain mooks // PM bosses) or MQI (arc grenades for shield/barrier removal // TS for bosses ) 

Also it did not helped that you were probably lacking all the gear and consumables required to make it workable ..

I should give that a try. I have to work on those challenges still, no reason not to try them all at once.

Apparently, I'm a little bored. For the record, I still think the Raptor sucks. At the time that I first wrote this, I don't think I had ever actually used it, so it came as a genuine shock to me just how much it sucked. But not having AP abilities in Gold was probably the biggest issue. Still, this thread was fun in ways I hadn't expected.

Yeah, your friend handles it pretty nicely too. 

 

It's not one of the game's great guns in its MP guise, but it's perfectly Gold-viable on more than a few characters.  I find that its relatively low hitting power is offset by its high dependability off-host. Also, if I'm a little bored I try to kill enemies while tapping out imaginary Morse code, or more frequently Led Zeppelin rhythms (Immigrant Song is a fave), to alleviate any pew-pew-pew tedium.

It doesn't suck at all. It's the perfect accessory to wear at a pride parade while being dressed in a white cowboy-suit wearing a pink cowboy hat. And the big advantage is that no matter what drugs you might consume, there's no danger of actually hurting sb with it. Even if you accidentially shoot him multiple times. 

It might even look good on a premium-hooker on a yacht in an 80ies Miami Vice episode. Too bad it doesn't fit into a Louis Vuitton Bag ...
