We're not bothered by waiting. We're bothered by the fact that Bioware says the game isn't even ready for a teaser trailer or screenshots for a magazine reveal. They still say the game is set for a calendar 2013 release and won't be be ready to show ANYTHING even by the end of March. If the plan is to release during the Holiday season the game will have to go GOLD late Summer/early Fall. If you don't think that means anything then you are not a critically thinking person.

When have we said "the game isn't even ready"?

We're not ready. When we do the reveal, we want it to both make a good impression and be complete enough that there's no room for speculation. Oh, sure, there'll always be some speculation among fans... but we'll be going for something less vague which doesn't cause more questions than it answers. I think our fan community, at this point, requires more than a teaser.

If your impression is that, because we're not showing it now, it's not showable... well, that's not true. Just because you don't see what we're doing doesn't mean we're not doing anything. It also takes time to put together trailers, and that's effort we currently can't afford. Heck, every trailer/demo I've ever take part in has always derailed devlopment far more than you'd probably realize.

The game is progressing nicely, and once we show it, you'll see how far along it actually is. Hopefully you'll be impressed. If you still think it's not ready by release, then like I said earlier-- don't buy it. If we think it won't be ready, that's a difficult ball of wax altogether.

But that's really our problem then, isn't it? I'm unsure what the angst gets you at this point, where you have nothing to base it on except your anxiety.

See me not making a "speculations" joke?  I think I'm growing as a person :P

On a more serious note:  totally understandable you want to make the best possible impression with the game. Given that it's the better part of a year untl (estimated) release, there's plenty of time for trailers and such.

Until then that World of Thedas book is coming out failry soon.  That should keep me in Dragon Age information for a while...

I am finding people excited about DA3 that I didn't even knew liked RPGs so there must be some word of mouth thing going on. I think the success of Skyrim will help in this case. People want another game with dragons and RP and DA is an excellent franchise to get in, if you like RPG and slashing/ throwing fireballs at things.

If Dragon Age was another FPS then I'd say it could get lost in the shuffle but being something different and on the same league as Skyrim, I think it can get a lot of new fans in this 2013 xmas.

I have the complete opposite experience. My friends who play video games werent even aware of a DA3, and I only know about it myself because I am such a DAO fanboy.

If many religions can be believed, they really don't seem to be. They are always galavanting off to some distant land to proclaim their respective dieties Word and then ticking people off so much that the places where they go just want to kill them.

...heck, if ANYTHING the BSN is the most saint-like in that light.

We'll see.  That's pretty much all anyone can say at this point (at least from the outside PoV as a customer).

Same here, I remember a few months after Skyrim came out, almost everyone who worked in the bakery I work at (except the elderly Philipino ladies) was playing it, and we'd all talk about it to each other every day, even when one of us found a new book in-game we'd tell the rest the story. Our passion even convinced 2 coworkers that don't really play games to buy it, yet only one of them had even heard of DA and he hadn't played it much, definitely not like the tons of playthroughs I would obsessively do. My angst over DA2 actually convinced him not to buy it and the rest never batted an eyelash.

We're not ready.

Then you, Laidlaw and Darrah should get on the same page. They've said several times that the game will be revealed when it's ready.

Since when is the point of trailers quashing speculation?

That and, ya know, the fact that the guy leading the project is the one saying the game isn't ready for primetime.

@BasilKarlo Antagonizing a moderator is bad, only saying that your post tone is .... lets say not that good.

Also Stop taking it personally. He is also responding to those on the other post about what they are saying.

Honestly who the F#$#$@ cares if its not ready for primtime it will get done when it gets done. Bellyaching about "not enough info" isn't going to help anyone.

Honestly I'm glad they aren't showing alot of info on it because "It wont hype up the game" In a way making it more of a grass roots kind of campiain. Where insted of them spilling there guts talking to anyone who will listen about "what we want to do" spending time doing there job "doing what they want to do"

Honestly I think Twitter facebook and all the new social media has messed up the workforce. No wonder the economy is s4$% everyone is on there computers or mobiles twitting or facebooking.

Maybe they should take brink the word "twitterpated" and apply it to anyone who can't get there hads off of Twitter

Not ready for primetime means that it is in a usable state but not something I would want to show to the outside right now. David Gaider is saying the same thing the game is in a usable but not necessarily in a state that Bioware wishes to use for a reveal.

And here is BasilKarlo providing and great example of why they have gone with the "show it when we have something we want to show" mentality.

Even their vague and not in anyway concrete comments about a release date are being twisted and used to take jabs back at them. That statements like "the earliest you could here something" and "we are looking at a late 2013 rewease) have been turned into concrete facts.

And something being a "popular phrase" means nothing. Now wash off your tinfoil hat and comeback with some more entertaining conspiracy theories.

Their statements aren't being twisted at all. They've said as recently as this month that Spring is when we should expect info and as recently as this week that they're on path for a calendar 2013 release.

I like that the DA team is keeping silent. Recently Assassin's Creed 4 was announced and in 4 days Ubisoft is already going to show a trailer. It actually kind of irritated me because I felt it was too soon to go full reveal on the game and it gave the impression that things were being rushed. I prefer silence over an instant reveal because it makes the game seem like it's rushed and possibly bad , where as keeping silent makes the game seem like its being worked on with time and effort which will result in a good game. But, that's just how I feel.

<blink><blink>  Ok.  So.  They say we should expect info in the Spring.  Notwithstanding the fact that 'they' are left unnamed and with no corraborating quotes...  IT AIN'T SPRING YET!!!!  It's still WINTER.  At least, it is in the Country that Bioware operates out of.   Spring is a 3 month period.  They could release info on the last day of spring, 1 minute before the first day of summer and they'd still be on the 'info in spring' schedule.  So, what exactly is your problem?  You are complaining that they haven't released the information that they've said they won't release?  How DARE they do what they say they'll do!

You are swiftly becoming the poster boy of BSN Entitlement Syndrome.
