Well, to get the thread back on track, I'll just post this here. I also want to inform everyone that I'll be doing the official BSN review of Mass Effect 3: Citadel no later than March 6 Noon Central Time. Here is the Teaser to the Review
I'm seeing a lot of concern from my fellow BSN posters about the quality of the upcoming Citadel dlc. People are worried that this dlc won't measure up to the previous Omega. While that is a tall order, I will list in this thread why Citadel may be able to meet that goal. While I'm not guaranteeing that Citadel can match the exhilerating combat and choice driven story Mass Effect 3 dlc prides itself on, things are looking promising.
1. New Quarters
For those of us who were tired of listening to the same music and looking out the same windows in the Captain's cabin, Shepard is finally getting an apartment. We're going to be able to decorate it and possibly even have guests over. The possibilities are endless.
2. New hubs
With war on everyone's mind, R&R is an absolute necessary. Some argue that hanging out at a casino or competing at the combat arena is pointless and selfish while the Reapers are harvesting innocents, and I'll address that. Furthermore, a lack of hubworlds has been arguably the biggest complaint on bsn since the game came out.
3. Squadmate Interaction
While I was personally very satisfied with my Jack romance, I know others who felt she and other me2 characters didn't get a fair share. Knowing Shepard's impending doom, it's important that people have a sendoff that satisfies them.
4. Combat
I know what drew me to Mass Effect 3 was the challenging combat. We'll be getting new enemies, and have been guaranteed high quality fights. The hardcore Mass Effect fan is all about a good gunfight and they won't be disappointed.
5. Story
War assets will be plentiful in this dlc, and those who enjoy an investigative approach are in for a real treat. All together, this dlc seems primed and ready to follow in its big brother Omega's shoes to have impactful choices and a very story driven campaign. I expect no less from a Bioware dlc. A big complaint on the forum has been "Why do I care about this dlc if I already know how it ends?". Needless to say, with the gang back in action, this dlc is looking strong.
While many were hoping for the Collectors, Harbinger or ending dlc, that simply wouldn't have worked out. Game mechanics didn't' allow for such things to be implemented, and Bioware has told us the ending has more than enough closure. Moreover, the content listed above surely outweighs such minor disputes. With new hubs, squadmate interaction, war assets incoming, and Chris Priestly's word that the dlc is looking good, it's safe to say this one's a winner. With 4 gigs of content at a modest 14.99, this is a must buy. I've bought Leviathan, Omega and From Ashes, and I intend for that trend to continue.
