I hate to be "that guy" because I totally agree with the whole Bioware ignoring us argument.
But seriously, we learn in the first conversation with Thane that he is dying.
I agree Thane romancers got the shaft in ME3, but his romance was always intended to be a fatalistic one.

I think the anger and frustration stems from the fact that people actually want to buy the DLC and immerse themselves in the story and universe again, but simply can't because there's no meaning to it. This is ridiculous. You actually need to calm down. It's a video game, and it's a chance to spend more time with the character's we've all come to love.
The war takes place over several months, and it's the worst war in history. Nobody could just go through that much hell and pressure, without relaxing, and not completely snap. If anything, having a little R and R ADDS some realism to the game.
You've made you point, if you feel that way don't buy the DLC. But jeez, just let it go already. Same with the people STILL talking about the endings. you've had almost a year to vent now. Get over it, or find a new game if every new Mass Effect 3 content just offends to and pisses you off.
