And that's why we will have Shepard decorating his apartment during the Reaper war. It's kinda out of place, but the best we can get with that ending.
I am glad it's at least a "finish with all your favorite characters"-DLC and not a random pseudo-important mission like Leviathan or Omega.

Alan, it is a flawed premise given that it is a game "urgency" issue. Bioware could have placed a timer, a countdown clock to force the player to "move along" but then, that would restrict exploration now wouldn't it?
Are you willing to stand by this for any game (most games) that feature content besides the main plot?
Also: I apparently am the only person who knows that R&R is, like, an actual thing that, like, real militaries use.
a) Yes. Do understand that one of the reasons I love ME1, is that it was as much a game of exploration, reading each and every planetary dedcription as you find them, as it was a game of combat and action. And because of this, had Bioware used a timer countdown, finish the game in xxxx minutes or you loose, especially if they used a strict timer, would have been detrimental to the exploration bit.
Thus, even though it was a "race" to beat Saren, I suspended my sense of urgency here so that I could enjoy every exploratory part of the game. The game allowed for it, game me a rather thin excuse to do so, so, I went along with it. No problem.

No problem.Considering I spent a night and two days in Australia after two weeks in the boonies blowing up stuff (poor roos ...they were in the wrong place and time) and clearing anti-tank mines, I'd say yeah, I know what R&R is.
So you can suspend your sense of urgency because you find exploration fun, which makes perfect sense, but why doesn't that also apply to casino and apartment stuff? What does it matter if the urgency gets waylaid so that the player is given a gambling minigame?

Yeah we never knew we'd have epic apartment decoration DLC.
I really don't know why BioWare is being so self-destructive.

I spent 7 years playing Final Fantasy XI and decorating the most epic Mog House you'd ever seen. Seriously it was so awesome my moogle would throw rave parties while I was out fighting just so he could show off his awesome master's mog house to other moogles.

I don't know why they'd let you decorate some Citadel apartment which most people will only go to once at this point (seriously, why give the player a "home" at the end of the DLC cycle?) instead of the Normandy, which makes a lot more sense. I actually would enjoyed decorating the Normandy, because that's Shepard's home. Makes a lot more sense than some random place on the Citadel.CronoDragoon wrote...

That statement is mind boggling... they have shown nothing that supports it at all. It really seems as if Bioware is living in denial at this point. Or just were handed a script by EA that had no bearing on reality. Take your pick.

Why would we hang onto our copies forever because of this, Leviathan, and Omega?
What a lot of us really wanted to se emore of, the Reaper war (nevermind endings), never got expanded on. Closest we got to it was Leviathan.
I hope I'd talked to Drew Karpyshyn more about this when I met him a few months ago.

So this thread pretty much shows video game fans will decry anything no matter how little proof is available.
And to think, just a few weeks ago there were threads pleading for romance and character dlc.

They aren't the only ones in deniel if you ask me. <_<
So amazing how some people take a tiny bit of information and fabricate and entire reality off of it.
When mike posted about the teaser pic, this dlc was dismissed as a casino dlc with no enemies, no plot, and no characters. Now it's called decoration dlc because of a single tweet and all other facts are ignored.

That would be all and good, if you actually had something to experience to judge whether you liked something or not.
People haven't even youtubed it and are already saying everything that will be in the dlc, that it's the worst dlc ever, and every other crappy comment under the sun, and the damn thing wasn't even announced a day ago.
That doesn't really fill me with much trust or confidence for this place to be any sort of reliable gauge for anything.

Just seems to me like they're not intrested in what the announcement said the DLC offers. I can relate the last two had nothing I wanted, this one does though. Not everything I want but enough to make me consider getting it. Not everyone's in the same boat as me though, they still find the overall experiance lacking. It's not that it's the worst DLC ever, it's more that what has been previewed so far is utterly useless to them, and not liking that is perfectly understandable.Darth Brotarian wrote...

Honestly the only thing keeping me from considering this place the most over-reactionary and chicken little place for gaming on the internet is /v/'s exsistence.

It was probably brought up at an EA marketing meeting that Hearthfire has sold well for Bethesda, so Bioware was tasked with finding a way to add it to the last DLC. It's probably the only thing besides the EC that wasn't culled from the game to be used as DLC.
What the marketing weasels don't get is that with Hearthfire, my dragonborn can travel to the new houses at any time, so he or she does have a place to go after defeating Alduin, or the vampires, etc., and his or her spouse will be waiting there.
But this is EAware, so I expect that like with Sims, you have to spend real money if Shepard wants to shop anywhere but Ikea. But if it's not post London, what's the point? Gods.

Actually, it's because Leviathan was just standard DLC that wasn't mindblowing. Omega is basically a mindless shooter in a really thin disguise, and nothing else has lived up to the promise of that statement. This DLC could be LotSB good, but at this point with the endings and the other DLC, it's nothing so mind blowingly awesome that I would never dream of getting rid of ME3. ME2 was that without DLC... LotSB and the others only made it more so. So far, the main game and the DLC really haven't lived up to the hype.

I'm actually not. I'm slamming the handling of the franchise by Bioware and the promises not being met on any front. I think this DLC could have some great things... but as others have pointed out, if the endings are still there then this DLC, just like the other two and the entirety of the franchise, is pointless.
