"I can't explain yet for fear of spoiling the story, but there is a very good, story reason why someone is trying to kill Shepard during the Reaper invasion."
They want to kill him because he's indoctrinated? I don't know! The anticipation is killing me!

We all know Chris, Jess and Patrick have confirmed that Citadel is not post-ending. But, I read this on Twitter:
Picture
Maybe it's an ALTERNATE ending or changes the ending? That wouldn't make it post-ending

Why can't you just be happy with new content?! The reason many, including myself, hated the ending was because they didn't want the series to end. They fixed plot holes with the EC. They've done enough with the ending. Now I just want to truly say goodbye to the characters, Shepard and the trilogy, and this DLC does this good. So stop ranting about the ending, and be happy we get new content!
Tip: Don't play the ending again after the DLC. Then the trilogy ends with this DLC.

Patrick: Or to be clearer, you cannot go to the Citadel for drinks once it's OVER EARTH.
Guy: So question- is there no content at all that even touches Cronos Station onward?
Patrick: I've gotten as specific as I can on that, as has Jess.
Guy: But Miranda can join you for it while she's 'too busy looking for her sister'?
Jess: sorry no spoilers, you'll have to play or ask someone who has

THE GREATEST SECRET OF ALL TIMES AND CONSPIRACY OF AGES!!! In the highly classified Citadel files you will get information about who is Shepard's real father... Illusive man! (Star Wars music)
Shepard: NNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Actually, I made that as a joke, but more I think of it, the more it sounds fitting for Bioware to do that, even if that is a cliche, especially because it is a cliche
I just replaced Luke with Shepard with the whole screaming No thing. It was a great cliche joke though considering I laughed for a bout 3 minutes when i read it.

That just makes me think that MAAAAYBE Miranda can join Shep on Cronos station....but that would be me getting my hopes up too high, so I will stop now!

That's it, then. There is absolutely no point on buying this DLC, if that's the case. Storywise, theme-wise, it makes NO SENSE.
Kinda sad, though. But that is the road they chose, so good luck with it. I am happy if some people enjoy the game with the ending it has, but I cannot. Perhaps it's a flaw of mine.
why doesnt it make sense? Why is the end of the game so important?

Well weve known for a while that BW has changed its direction and goes for cheap thrills like Michael Bay, not for something that actually does make sense. Like the Nostalgia Critics Michael Bay said in his recent episode: "PORN IT!!!"

Indeed. If the DLC, as they say, does take place in the middle of the game, there is no valid reason to give the players a home. None.
I can understand getting drunk and the party bit, perhaps the chilling out as R&R, but a personal living quarters? No, that doesn't work. Let's take an example from another BioWare game, Dragon Age: Origins. It's like the Warden suddenly says "you know what, I'm gonna buy a house. Archdemon, you say? Pfft, he'll wait. Say Morrigan, you think I look fat with these curtains?"
Come on. This kind of stuff works on Skyrim, but let's be honest, this ain't it. Skyrim is an open world game in which you can keep playing after finishing it.
Please, all you who are happy about this, help me understand that living quarters thing? It breaks the flow and the pace. Thematically it's very different from the fetch quests or other side things. It's a house. Your own flat. It's a place where you settle down. You don't settle down when there's a war going on. I don't remember my grandad decorating my house when he was fighting the Russians in Winter War...
Simple: don't go into the living quarters. Problem solved.
you Saracen have just won this thread

Christ almighty, can't you see? How on earth can you justify getting a house in the middle of the war? It doesn't fit with the theme, the flow, the pacing..

While I agree that would be amazing, they would have to explain how a reaper god with no corporeal form and/or a synthesized metaphysical union of synthetic and organic life plays poker. if this is only a reward for those who chose destroy (possibly refuse...no one really knows wtf happened there), then the control/synthesis choosers would be upset, right?
True... maybe the same scenario then, but pre Cronos... Which wouldn't make sense at all in the timescale and situation in-game, but would still allow us to potentially play ME3 forever...
What was it Gamble tweeted, all those months ago? "If you knew what we had planned..."
Just more PR BS I say. How many times are you gonna fall for the same thing...? I saw the truth in ME2s time, they always bit more than they could chew.

Some people will be satisfied with anything. Some people will be satified with nothing. But I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. This is the problem with creating emotionally charged content and then to expect your audience not not have an emotional response when you dont follow through with what should have been reasonably axiomatic content.

Becuase the end of the game is the goal, the payoff. It's where we see the results of our actions come together and we find out once and for all how well we did.
If that fizzles, and the payoff is insuffucuent, there is no catharsis. Your actions become meaningless time-wasting. The game turns into nothing but pointless shooting of space-zombies. The ending is the keystone to a narrative. Without a destination, a goal, the journey is just aimless wandering.
So we get to have another midgame adventure and a party afterwards. So what? Before too long Shepard gets to make a horrific choice and then burn. How are people supposed to enjoy the company of companions with that in the back of their mind?

The last bit of your post doesnt make sense, How can anyone stop you enjoying the game and dlc? You could just play the game and not read these threads....problem solved.MJoshier wrote...
the majority of this thread has been angry speculation over the ANNOUNCEMENT of the final DLC....with two paragraphs of description (and that's NOT a walkthrough) the dlc's NOT out yet, they've only said a few things such as CONFIRMING that it's called citadel and it's coming out and certain squadmates are expected. It was a vague statement of a conspiracy against shepard....yet everyone is already condemning it? Why? because people were disappointed with the before EC ending? ACCEPT IT and move on. Or become your own gaming company and make your own damn game. There your problem is solved. Just let us ME Fans who have moved on from the ending enjoy the freaking game and this new dlc.
1200mp, Standalone mission, Pew pew cerby, go ikea for furniture, get bored when its complete, then continue on the walk of shame to pick your fave color which in turn completely destroys the citadel dlc...sounds so appealing:bandit:
