2. The only ending Shepard potentially survives is high EMS destroy. the whole "hanging out on the citadel" thing sounds pretty out of place in the middle of the reaper war..... "well guys that was fun, now let's go hit chronos station!".... yeah i'm not buying that.
Ok I've seen this repeated a few times now. And it makes no sense. Our soldiers in real life, fighting in Afghanistan, and in the past Iraq got R&R. It's a healthy thing for Morale, they get 2 weeks of a 12 month deployment to go spend time with family, with friends, relax, have a good time, before going back to hell. So no, it's not unrealistic, and I've even see mentions that suggest there should be feelings of guilt for having said good time. Ridiculous. If you don't like the idea, don't buy it. But don't suggest that having some R&R isn't appropriate in a game, when it certainly is something that happens IRL.
While i 100% agree with real troops needing r&r and they deserve it. It seems a bit funny to defend in a game unless its something that you have interest in playing. Throughout this game we are shown that all the tough jobs and decisions are made by shepard. Hes the only one who can stop the reapers and the only one who can unite races to do it.
The majority of his race is also being killed off but hey lets party and buy and apartment. Im not against anyone enjoying any part of this game foe any reason or even this dlc coming up. you better believe if something like this really happened no commander would be taking downtime to buy a home and have some drinks
But it's IN the game too. The shooting match with Garrus, Sparring with James, Citadel dates etc. Did you get the conversation with Joker after Thessia practically begging Shepard to stop and breathe before he/she completely breaks? Garrus telling him/her to slow down, sleep? This is exactly why game or real life R&R is a neccessary part of war. As badass as commander Shepard is, he/she still doesn't do his species much good if they drive themselves into the ground before even getting to Cronos station. And I find it funny how realism has no place in a game, when people are arguing that R&R isn't realistic? No commander is any good to his troops if he doesn't keep his own morale up. A fact several soldiers I know have learned the hard way.
