Maybe something on the Citadel (keepers?) is trying to take Shepard out of the equation to the reapers can win the war?

and probably several times that number on Kar'Shan and on other places,
so don't tell me it's the same.

How'd you get through ME1, anyway? Skip most of the content? ME2 works because you can't get at the Collectors until you can.

Wouldn't this mean the DLC takes place at the earliest just after the Cerberus Coup mission?  The VS is healing up to that point and not available for anything.

[R&R / pointless sidequests / leveling obscure minor skills] while the [kingdom/planet/galaxy] burns is just an aspect of RPGs in general. It's always a little strange but it's better than a totally linear storyline with no room for exploration. ME1 and ME2 had it too, far more so than ME3.

thats a fair point. I'm curious to see how the DLC deals with it though. It's always good to have those extra details justified

Keepers aren't linked to the Reapers anymore unless the recon the whole of ME1 in this DLC.

Plus the Reapers and Cerebus are trying to kill Shepard. Really don't think he's bothered!

Probably. Makes sense. Things are in a bit of a rush until after Tuchanka. Rannoch isn't pushed as being such an emergency, and until you're at the Citadel you don't know how important Thessia is.
