So does the MP package come out today or tomorrow? Here it says it comes out tomorrow..... :S http://masseffect.bi...tiplayer_packs/

The trailer says 26th and the description says 27th.

Mmm...

It says "Worldwide" on that page, which it would technically be out worldwide tomorrow, since others are getting it tomorrow instead of today. So we still get it today.

that also means that we gotta wait because of timezones^^

I remember most DLC stuff coming out pretty much at that time, maybe an hour or two more to wait^^

Yeah, when is Reckoning supposed to release on PC? It's 3:25 here on the East Coast of the USA but it still hasn't shown up for download in Origin.

On the live stream they said that Origin usually updates at noon PST, which is 20:00 GMT. I remember when the extended cut was released. I had to connect to an american network to download it early(or should i say; on time). Hope this is not the case with this DLC.

Dispite being the final DLC for SP & MP - are the weekly balances for MP going to continue?

They will continue for a while (is always like that in games).
But eventually they will have fixed the most pressing issues and some others too and since no new content comes out, they will discontinue making patches (unless some new major bug/exploit/whatever is discovered)

Each game has a life cycle.
It begins with the release of the game, and can be extended by adding new Downloadable content.
But at some point there would be too much content/too many MP maps, so the development of new stuff gets more-less dicontinued and the staff is reassigned to other tasks (other projects from bioware like Mass effect 4)

Mass Effect 3 has pretty much reached the end of the line, bioware actually CANNOT make more content than was announced (well, they can release another alternate appearance/weapons pack for SP). Multiplayer would get lame if you add any more NEW maps (thats why the last 2 MP DLCs didn't actually include entirely new maps) because the playerbase would be spread out too much -->difficultys when searching for games

This is not that much of an issue for the big players in MP gaming like Call of Duty and Battlefield (thogh BF is superior since it has twice the life cycle of COD and doesn't need to release a new game every year to keep their community by their side)

Soon (in about 1-3 months bioware will move away from Mass Effect 3 (after all the balancing is finished and all major issues resolved) and prioritize other games like Mass Effect 4 which is going to be one hell of an undertaking, even more difficult to do than ME3 because of the Frostbite Engine and since our hero Shepard won't be with us then --> story has to be done from scratch, prequel VERY likely because easier and less conflict with Shepards choices in the ME trilogy

Oh, well that explains it. Glad to see them working on it before launch.

Question. What's going to happen when they fix it? Since Origin updates once every day, will we have to wait till next time it updates before we can get the dlc?

Sorry for the wall of text back there, but what I am saying is that you shouldn't get your hopes up for anything major in ME3 (besides Reckoning and Citadel DLC)

Mass Effect 3 is a masterpiece, a truly exceptionally well-made conclusion of the Mass Effect trilogy.

Yes, I know, the ending wasn't exactly what we hoped for, but Bioware didn't have much of a choice but to make the ending the way it turned out.

Reasons:
-) Back in the first Mass Effect game we saw how hard it is to blow up a reaper with brute force and Sovereign said that there were LOTS of his buddys waiting in dark space

-) In Mass Effect 2 we learn what Reapers actually do- they harvest the organic races and turn them into reapers.

So considering all the traits of the reapers and the hopeless situation, all BW could do is to make a setting where you try your best to build a superweapon that kills all of them at once, since there is no way that these about 2 years between ME1 and ME3 brought that much improvement in weapon technology that the reapers could have been beaten with brute force.

And on a side note: The oldest known Reaper in ME2 was the one you took the IFF from, and it was about 36 MILLION years old. The reapers harvested ALL technology of the cycle too, so they had a lot of FAR superior technology so they couldn't have been beaten just like that with brute force, other races would have done so in the previous cycles otherwise, the reapers wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to become that armada if they suffer THAT heavy losses and can only reproduce by harvesting the races there...

Theory:
Exactly that happened. Reapers took their time with waiting for the right time, species got more and more advanced, Reapers managed to pull their victory off but suffered heavy losses. Since then they started the cycles earlier so that yon't happen.

On a side note: Harbinger (the FIRST reaper) was Modeled after the Leviathans (who all reapers were modeled after), but all of them had FIVE main legs (the ones they stand on when on the ground), but Harbinger has only FOUR.

My theory:
He almost got blown up, lost the front leg and repaired itself, but couldn't repair the missing leg since there were not any Leviathans left (That he could find to harvest them since they were diding on 2148 Desponia in an underwater cave-->ME3 Leviathan DLC)
