But nobody is comparing those two things together. It just is so far out of character that it does not just bend the lore, but instead break it.

Which again, does not actually state that they physically cannot do it. They aren't physically cut out for fighting, represented in-game by the face that they have 150 base health, but it does not say that they physically cannot fight.

Yes it is out of character because the Volus don't normally fight due to them being on the weak side of things, but it does not directly do something that the codex says is not possible.

It doesn't break the lore because of it, it just bends it in a way that some people aren't happy about it. BioWare has shown that they're willing to bend the lore in MP, though.

 I don't know if it's been said already, haven't read the whole thread, but this is clearly EDI's latest dlc appearance which means no cameltoe and looking much less of a sexbot and more of a real combat unit.
So yeah really this doesn't bother me in the very least.

What is the big deal. It has been almost a year since launch. Why not almost a year for those who masturbate over lore to consider then, that a platform as good as EDI has been mass produced and exploited?

For those on about fan service. What do you expect, Bioware not to listen and give us sometime we don't want? That'd be a good move if they want all the abuse the ending gave them (and still does) all over again.

Fantastic game, fantastic MP considering it was only a scratch on the surface. Bioware work damned hard for this community and all they get is complaining idiots and barely any gratitude. Get a grip people! This will be awesome and you'll still play the hell out of it so as my Krogan would say, quit whining!

*pushes up nerd glasses* Well actually it is polygons and shaders you see, as bytes are a measurement of storage and pixels apply to sprites on a 2D plane. Though I agree, it is ridiculous.

Don't care for its inclusion, but I don't see how it is a bad thing either.

While the logic of making a robotic form to disquise itself amongst humans over using...you know, real humans is odd, the body used by EVA/EVE/Whatever-the-new-CERB-Bot-was-called and then EDI was effective in combat as evidenced in its usage against and with Shepard, so its of no surprise that the Alliance would manufacture these 'Infiltration Units' and have them placed into a United Special Operations Task Force, or USOTF as I shall henceforth call it.

They're a lot better in combat than standard mechs are, to say the least. Don't get their arms shot off as often and are considerably more mobile.
