Big fan of Shirow Masamune(ghost in the shell black magic 66 etc.) In the back of the Black Magic66 Manga he describes the reasoning behind female robots. In it he makes the argument that the hips and chest of the "fem bot"(my term not his) is to facilitate sensor packaging and I believe gyro stablizers. Could be the same factor here. Also as posted before, if you don't want fem bots then don't ask for more female characters.

They would make more sense from a practical point of view, which I would say it's more of a priority for the Alliance anyway. A mech like the Rampart would be much easier to repair and jury-rigg if necessary, specially in the frontlines, than a robot with fully articulate facial muscles and a carefully sculpted body. She may be an "infiltrator", but our infiltrators are not infiltrating anyway: they are kicking reaper butt just like everyone else.

Yes this is sound logic. People asking for female characters should not complain about the quality of those characters and the treatment they get.

Well thanks for proving my point, OP.

MP is not fighting on the front lines. MP takes place with tactical insertions into enemy-occupied territory. The whole idea is to send a few extremely talented soldiers in to overtake a base by themselves. Hence the edi bot. If I were to pick a team (like in SP) I would much rather have EDI (in fact I used her for most of my campaign in SP) than the rampart mech.

But you're right, rampart mechs would make great sense on the front lines. Which is why they aren't in MP.

Also none of this matters because the deal is done, the battle is won, I got me my EDI bot Imma have me some fun!

What is the name of of the character again? Alliance, Infiltration, Unit, or something like that?

And you're implying that the alliance can't reconfigure a model that has already proven to be superior (first with eva, then with edi), much superior than a rampart mech, considering eva killed one of shepard's crew all by herself.

Also, EVA bot is much better than rampart mech in almost every category, looks, defenses, offensive capabilties, etc. etc.

lore... ya.. seems pretty silly to argue about lore when the MP side has an expiration date now.

btw if it is an EDI bot, then all you lore lovers can just just sit around being mad, knowing i will be playing it somewhere in the universe without your permission.

Dr. EVA Core is a proper infiltration unit... until it's flesh gets burned off. Now it's just a robot being controlled by an AI. That infiltration ability is not effective as it CLEARLY looks like a robot.


These Alliance Infiltration units look EXACTLY like a robot, completely and utterly destroying the whole purpose of infiltration. 



Your arguements on them being better looking than the Rampart mechs are subjective.


Your arguement on their combat abilities are also subjective.

Haha thanks. I tend to think that first b/c I just hate ashley so f***ing much. In fact I'm playing through ME1 for the first time, and I purposefully let her die just so I wouldn't have to put up with her ever again.

Are you seriously attempting to argue that if you put the EDI bot up against a rampart  one-on-one the rampart would win?
