For the record, all other factors being equal, I still believe that a Vorcha Sentinel with Grenade Gear V is more likely to outscore a TGI Harrier.

Maybe.

Which remembers me that I still have to try a Destroyer with that gear and Grenade Defense mode. Mgamerz!!!!1

I've been trying to figure out how to spec my Vorcha Sentinel. Fitness seems semi important but it seems like I want all the powers at 6 each, too. 66606? 46646?

I forgot how I specc'd him, because I haven't played him in forever! He's such a grenade-and-score-w**re that I feel guilty whenever I use him!

I go 66653. I don't bother with weapon damage, just power damage, since I use him with an Acolyte. I stack Regen on Bloodlust, since Flamer makes most of what I'd use Melee for redundant (I still use his melee a lot, though. With a Pistol Stunner, the Vorcha Sent is one of the characters that gains an infinitely-chaining-stunlock-light-melee-combo.)

Him and a few other kits. I think what sets the TGI apart is ease of use- you can keep up a high damage output under fire by using stim packs, and cloaking to drop aggro. And even more so with the harrier.

Kits like the Vorcha sentinel and GI have a much higher damage output but in the wrong hands (such as mine) they'll be going down too much to have the same impact.

N7_SP3CTR3 (x2), TheNightSlasher, and me teamed up for some interesting matches - with very interesting waves. Good job, guys!

Were you after this thread? This place is now the domain of the BSN lynch mob. (Not that I have much sympathy- you wave an e-peen around that much and someone was bound to hack it off sooner or later.)

I appreciate those kind words, as an avid Vorcha Sentinel user!

It's true though, the V-Sent does take a learning curve to combine the damage output with the survivability. I didn't find it was a long one, once I settled on my current build. But it does involve judicious use of dodge and the map's terrain, which I imagine one can probably ignore a lot of the time as a TGI/Harrier.

66644- you can't not max flamer, bloodlust, or lolnades, and 4/4 fitness/passive split gives you good survivability and some power damage buffs (and there's no great need to max either).

66653 is totally workable as well. Taking the speed/melee evolution on rank 6 of Bloodlust also really helps survivability since even with maxed health regen he's not actually able to straight up tank all that much damage on higher difficulties anyways- you're better off relying on speed and his great dodge.

*and I'm always torn between using AM3 or a power amp. Obviously flamer and cluster 'nades love power amps, but stacking AM3 with the speed/melee rank 6 BL evo makes him crazy fast when BL is fully stacked.

I might go back to the speed bonus again, just for a while for fun. It's how I used to play him. I use Power Amps on him, which is a lot like using drugs. I end up looking like this:

Thanks for the tips. I've been having fun lately with the Vorcha Soldier, and it's a little easier to pick a good build there - I just skipped Carnage and went with the Acolyte/Flamer build with a light backup weapon. He's pretty survivable with maxed Bloodlust and fitness. I was thinking I'd want to max fitness on the Sentinel too but I'll try out the 66653 build. Maybe Instead of a Power Amp I could throw on Cyclonics. Derp.

Thats a waste of cyclonic- his base shields are pathetic, you get virtually no mileage out of one (Cyclonic IV is +325 shields... awesome). If you feel nervous about survivability, trade that 15% power damage rank 5 passive for rank 4 of Fitness, and consider the speed/melee evo of Bloodlust. You won't really notice it anyways, especially if you end up using a power amp (which is a good idea- either that or adrenaline are sort of the only reasonable options anyways).

And obviously the Acolyte makes alot of sense from a min/max perspective, but consider using something a little more fun and Vorcha-ey, like a shotgun with Disruptor rounds (disruptor makes it a good anti-shield gun, and now you're setting off TBs as well as FEs)- my favorites on him are Venom and Raider.

Oh, and I'M ALIVE!!!

I don't particularly like Flamer which is the main reason I don't play the Vorcha Sentinel or Soldier very much but their relatively slow movement speed really doesn't help either. So I always use an Adrenaline amp whenever I do play those kits.

The faster Vorcha Hunter is definitely my favourite but he'd be even better if he wore the goggles like in your avi.

Have you tried the Graal? I think it's great fun, at least on the Hunter.

Agree 100%. And AM3 on the Hunter is a non-decision IMO- I love zipping around with that little devil and blasting stuff in the face with my Raider or Claymoar.

Graal is pretty much standard for me on the VSol (mostly for the fun factor), and I use it every now and then when I spec the Hunter for a more melee-centric build. VSent gets Venom or Raider 10 times out of 10.

Right, I don't know what I was thinking. As for the Acolyte/Flamer combo, I run the Flamer-less GT, so I wanted to have at least one other kit set up to try that particular kind of cheese.

Also, I actually prefer my vorcha sentinel without fitness and with a power amp, but I'm sure an adrenaline module is just as good if not better.

Oh and, kits that can outscore a TGI harrier:

-insert all kits here.

Yeah, there's no denying its effectiveness, especially on a cluster-grenade kit. Any AoE weapon turns him into an utter combo machine- Acolyte shot with Incendiary/Cryo/Disruptor->Cluster 'Nade->BOOM!... Flamer->Cluster->BOOM!... Oh, hi there Ms. Asari Adept... Is that a warp? Cluster 'nade->BOOM!

Same goes for the Venom though obviously, and any projectile/AoE weapon has the added benefit of helping with survivability (since a staggered enemy is an enemy not shooting you... unless they're Geth. **** Geth. Seriously.)

I'm terrible at melee and try not to fight in close quarters so much with the Hunter so it's always Barrel and Smart Choke on the Graal. It makes it extremely accurate and good against on-host Phantoms - whenever I use the Raider on non-accuracy boosting classes Phantoms just laugh at it.
