Can't listen to it at work, so it may be the wrong one, but I think he was referencing this.Bryan Johnson wrote...

Derek will be dearly missed, I have had the pleasure of working with him directly for the past year and indirectly for the year before that.
There will be a sadness that comes over both work and home, as he is not around.
My best to you Derek, but you certainly are not running away from me and Chloe.
Mr. Johnson, that sounds like a threat. Next you will be burning his house down with combustable lemons.

Whoa! Thank you all for the tremendous response.
I'll try to answer a few of those questions:
1. Blood gets shed for so many reasons...
2. I was a contract employee, so I do have to depart BioWare. If something more permanent comes up in the future here, I wouldn't say no to it. There are a limited number positions though.
3. So many games. I still haven't finished Portal 2 or the Assassin's Creed series (ducks from flying fruit). Chris Schanche INSISTS I play Dark Souls. I am currently hooked on Path of Exile.
4. I will still be able to play ME3 MP on my personal account.
5. Salarians can breathe underwater.
Cheers
I also insist that you play dark souls, its my favorite game this generation

With the announcement of our final DLC installments, I figured now is as good a time as any to post this.
The past two years have been incredible for me as a fan of BioWare and as a contracted employee of the company. My final day here is the 28th of February, 2013. Alas, all good things…
My feelings are as expected. We have rolled out an incredibly fun multi-player and associated DLC over the past year. It is something I will carry with me with pride. I have had the honour and privilege to work with one of the most talented teams in the industry and have made a lot of friends here. This is a team that is very passionate about what they do and it shows.
Blood has been shed, sweat has beaded, and tears have filled the buckets. Someone has to clean that up. Coordinating the multi-player room here in Edmonton during development was a bit intimidating at first. We wanted it to be successful. No pressure. Then there was the Live Team to help coordinate weekend operations and assist with balance pushes. It has been a journey. A hard fought one.
I will be heading back into semi-retirement to catch up on the list of games I have been meaning to get to and re-connect with my family in proper fashion. I can’t say for certain what the future holds for me, but I will keep my eyes and ears open for opportunities to get back into the saddle, as it were.
Thanks to you, the fans, for making this a great experience. I wish you great gaming for years to come.
I should go.
Cheers
Yes, here is a big thank you from the rest of the development team. Derek was a huge help to our multiplayer efforts!

Well, fear not, Mr. Hollan. You'll be remembered in my mind as one of the greatest people to ever impact the gaming industry. I hope a permanent job opens up for you in the future. You really deserve it.

You will really be missed here.
Nevertheless I wish you all the best and all you would like to have for your future.
It would be great if we could meet you again one day, either here or ingame or ... who knows ...

When I picked up ME3 I had no intention to play the multiplayer, but fell in love once I gave it a try. Now, almost a year later, there are few games I have spent so much time on, and none of a similar genre. Once again: thank you.
