I didn't think MIranda romancers got shafted at all in ME3....... Jack, Jacob, and Thane romancers did though.

People who romanced ME2 characters at all got shafted, only in differen ways. Jacob chews, Thane forgets he was ever involved with Shepard and dies, Jack just sort of disappears entirely, and Miranda is suddenly an idiot with a recycled plot.

My LI in ME2 was Miranda, however, I don't care about seeing or ramming her (with her clothes on) again as much as i would like the story to be amazing. I really hope ME fans would stop worrying so much about romance and burka sex in the ME games than they would about actually getting a complete, exciting and great story. Also, the romance aspect was only good in ME1 after that it really got stupid.

We did worry about getting a complete, exciting and great story, and look where it got us!

Jack is actually more similar to Natalia Portman portraying Evee from Snyder's "V for Vendetta".

Oh, come on. After all the petitioning of -said character- should get additional dlc content, and how unlikely we all thought that would be in any case at first? This isn't anything that 'should've been in the game in the first place.' This is pure fan service. If you want to be cynical then maybe it's an apology for a terrible conclusion but you can't possibly argue that this is anything less than Bioware listening to the fans.

So happy to hear that we will potentially have more Jack! She is my favourite character in the whole series, both as a squadmate in terms of gameplay and just as a bad ass **** who doesn't take any ****.

I am very optimistic about this. I'm assuming that the extra squadmates are specific to the DLC, or will they be playable elsewhere in the game too?

You really think Bioware is gonna put in a sex scene the same quality as the three i mentioned above, for each romance? I guarantee you they're gonna keep it simple. Remember the fade to black love scene with Miranda in ME3? That's probably the farthest it'll get. If that.

Did I get to spend as much time with Miranda as I would have liked in ME3? No, but I don't feel shafted. If anybody got the shaft in ME3 it was the femsheps that romanced Jacob in ME2. In fact, I don't have high romance hopes for the upcoming DLC because BioWare has yet to do a decent LI in the ME series.

HoTU in Neverwinter Nights was about as close to a decent romance as I have ever seen them come. In the ME series they had a good thing going with Williams until they screwed the pooch and made her psychotic in ME2. I guess that's why they screwed over femshep with Jacob. Frankly, I am amazed that any of the writers of the romances have any kind of a social life given the quality of the romances that they have produced.

That said, I realize that it is difficult to write a believable romance. But as romance in games is really the bastard step child of the franchise they don't really pay it much attention because the romance story competes with the main plot for time and attention and that's why there should be a category for gaming awards that recognizes in game romances.

Unless and until such a category is established for the major game awards we will just have to slog through whatever we can get.

Indeed. Miranda's is good in ME2 and in ME3. In ME2, Shepard has the issue of having the emotional range of a brick, but that improved in ME3. It may not be up to book standards, but all in all it's good.
