I doubt. I think we will have new Salarians, maybe a new Asari and Quarian Soldier too. If you realize, Bioware made everything we asked for this game.

Aren't you forgetting someone? Awkward....

The Turian Raptor is the Cabal. It's not two different characters.

So, then...what species is the Raptor? There's no way that word came out of nowhere...

Just think of it as a nickname like Batarian Slasher or Brawler.

That.  We called her the Raptor for a long time before she became the Cabal near the end of production, I suspect that's how the name ended up in some of the information release.

Any chance the Vanilla kits can get snazzy kit designations, instead of Human Male Soldier, Female Quarian Engineer, etc?

I've never understood this obsession with getting female variants of species in this.

I mean who really cares? New powers, playstyles,

combinations of powers with odd synergies and fringe benefits hitherto unthought of by the like of man!

I mean it's not like we're getting female drell or anything ;-)

Hasn't come out yet and already some complaining. *sigh*

Be grateful we're about to get some really cool stuff.

Showing signs of gratitude, was punishable by death in the Empire.

I've never seen a female Drell.
Or Volus, for that matter.

Makes sense. Raptor means "bird of prey" and the Turians are credited as being very avian.

And now I get to make horrible Jurassic Park jokes and call mine a "clever girl" all the time. Posted Image

I could care less. We get another Geth and another Synthetic. I believe that Synthetic is even an infiltrator being an infiltration unit and all. I'm satisfied enough.

So technically there's one more character to be revealed.
Who hopes its one of these?

Well, if it's only six, I know we won't be getting a lot of the things 've pined for since the game released.
Like another female soldier since the slot's taken by Geth Juggy.

I just hope the female turian isn't less durable than the males.

Odds are good there won't be a female quarian in the DLC, nor will there be a female Krogan.

I just pray that the ladies being added to the roster aren't relegated to power spamming to be effective.

The fembot is most likely an Infiltrator, so the chance of them all being pure power spammers is slim to none.

I hate to say it, but I consider infiltrators to be power spammers considering their powers rarely last longer than a few seconds, and must be used repeatedly in rapid fashion.

Cloak, fire, cloak, fire, cloak, fire, ad nauseum.
Or
Cloak, use power, fire, cloak use power, fire, cloak use power, fire.
Or if you're playing shadow, or huntress depending on style
Cloak, use power, use power fire, cloak use power, use power, use power, fire.

Infiltrators have to spam cloak to make the most out of their weapons, and powers. It's not entirely about chucking powers at enemies, though a lot of infiltrators do. Even the mighty Geth Infiltrator uses proxy mines.

It's still just an option.

Met a scrub today who didn't spec TC on a Huntress because he didn't like it.

That just seems like not wanting to count them as weapons users for the sake of saying there are less weapons users, to be honest.

Their powers augment their weapon damage, not replace it. The vast majority of their damage still comes from their weapons, except for certain Shadow or Huntress builds.

My Human/Turian Soldiers and Quarian Marksman all need to constantly use abilities to keep their damage up as well, and the Turian Soldier even uses Proxy Mine on a regular basis(or should be for maximum damage against boss mobs).

Remember even if she uses abilities, if the AIU has an accuracy boosting ability she automatically gets on the council of weapons masters =P

Oh, no, it's not that I don't want to count them as a weapons class. They are weapons platforms, but they are power spammy weapons platforms.

I mean lets look at the Geth who get a constant weapon buff mode. Or the Destroyer. Less power spam reliance, and better weapon use via those powers.

Sure Soldiers need to use AR, and marksmanship a lot, but the power's damage boost does last longer than tac cloaks, so they spam their powers less often.

Power spam for peak damage is power spam for peak damage, bluntly.

I will give you the fact that Tac Cloak can't be dodged, and never misses, doesn't get negated by protective bubbles, and such so it's not like having to hurl warp, or throw repeatedly.
It's not situational like having to get within meters of enemies like Annihillation field either.

Tac cloak is a good power, but it's activation is required enoough to be considered spammy.

Weapons experts that just wap a power on and leave it aren't common at all, though.  Tactical Cloak, used aggressively, is a weapon souper-upper. Just like Marksman, just like Adrenaline Rush. I don't think it's fair to argue that infiltrators are a power class at the same time as lauding soldiers for their weapon-dependent playstyle. All characters make some use of powers, and I can only name three who can activate multiple powers and forget about them.

Yes, all classes make some uses of powers, but some more often than others for peak output. The more they have to use the powers the less enthused I am about it coz it requires more spamming of powers.

Be grateful your inferior species were allowed to enter the N7 program in the first place.

What Bioware is holding back is a FEMALE KROGAN.

Exactly, and the difference between AR and TC isn't all that much. 4 seconds min for TC(assuming you never use up any of the duration of your cloak) and about 6-7 for Adrenaline Rush if you spec melee at rank 5 like I do.

I don't really think it's fair to call them power spammy just because TC has a short cooldown, when it gives such a massive boost to weapon damage and their powers are used primarily to buff up their weapon damage.

On the other side, if the Female Turian is the Vanguard, then she's going to be pretty tough regardless of her other 2 abilities simply because Biotic Charge + Turian health.
