1.Shepard has met canonically at anytime throughout the trilogy and is not related in ANY DLC or side quest.
2.Can NEVER die no matter what Shepard did throughout the trilogy.
3.Has any hate for Shepard no matter what Shepard did at all in the trilogy.

1. Manuel met Shepard canonically in any playthrough, and is not related to any DLC or side quest.
2. Manuel can never die no matter what.
3. Manuel maybe, potentially, probably accessed the Prothean beacon on Eden Prime anyhow and it made him a little Apocalypse Now. Also, the very first Shepard Paunch.

Also...

1. Even though they're side quest-related, it's impossible to not see Jahleed and Chorban. In fact, Ash points Chorban out to you as messing with a Keeper no matter what you do.
2. Jahleed and Chorban cannot die no matter what.
3. Shepard knew about the Keepers "all along" and never said anything to either of them. I'd imagine that's a bit of a Cheerio-pisser.

Food for thought.

Shepard doesn't meet Manuel canonically and can leave him locked in that shed forever.Shepard doesn't need to meet them and can choose not to meet either and Chorban can be killed byShepard and Jahleed can be sent to prison.

the armor those guys are wearing reminds me a lot of the keepers. those lights on the lower abdomen look like keepers eyes. & the antenna on their backpack (?) looks like those on the back of keepers.
i hope we get to furbish shep's new quarters with it's very own keeper...  :o

The backpacks with the atennas are also on the Cerberus Centurions. They could just be mercenaries.

That doesn't change the fact Manuel's still guano and potentially accessed the beacon. Plus, he was pretty prominently figured in pre-release ME1 footage and promos, so it's not as if he's not very visible to the ME1 vets and memorable.

As far as Chorban, I forgot you could cap him. Well, all the more reason for Jahleed to want revenge, especially after having been in volus prison.

I'd like to point out that the new guys' eyes appear to be fairly narrow set.

Manuel is a mystery and extremely unlikely.Shepard can just ignore Jahleed after killing Chorban.

Exactly, they're the last people you'd ever expect to go after Shepard.

Or are they the first people you'd ever expect to go after Shepard, because they're the last people you'd ever expect to go after Shepard? If you want the trilogy to go out with a totally unexpected bang, there's your way to do it right there.

They do not appear to be Geth, Quarians, Turians, Salarians, Hanar, Volus, Elkor. They can't be asari. Unless they are a new race I think they are human or Drell.

They could possibly not be human.

The scientist in the Firewalker DLC's, Dr. Cayce, was supposed to be Manuel.  Just throwing that out there. So he's dead.

And rewatching that I just realized that Toombs and Manuel have the same voice actor.

Oh for cryin' out...cut content is not canon. If you got that link from the other thread about this, that's already been addressed there, too.

I'm certain they're just mercenaries or some sort of secret service or a private military. Not directly Reaper related, not alien enough.

Just saying, no need to bite my head off. And I didn't see the other thread.

My new guess as to their motivation is that they think Shepard is indoctrinated. Udina attempted to take over and the speculation was that he was indoctrinated. Wouldn't it make sense if a group was concerned that Shepard who has been in contact with so many reapers may have fallen pray too? They seek to kill him because they are afraid he will betray them at the final hour. I would also point out that the Refuse ending was somewhat tongue in cheek. Such a DLC plot would be tongue in cheek for "Indoc theory."

Okay then, fair enough. And besides, if you were Manuel, wouldn't you fake your own death and lie in wait to have your revenge until Shepard's distracted playing Space Blackjack or whatever? Revenge is a dish best served cold, of course.

I never understood that reference. I'd want my revenge to be piping hot....like the spilled blood of my enemy.

I suppose ot could be in reference to being cold-hearted in ones desire for revenge.

You can kill the salarian in the Scan the Keepers quest if you speak with the volus first.

IT"S THE BATARIANS!!!!! Who else wants to kill Shepard (other than the Reapers) so bad and if you look at the Batarians in game they always have backpacks like that. They could have hijacked an Alliance or MSV ship and disguised themselves. IT JUST HIT ME!!!

Image IPB I would laugh so hard if after all the speculation here and during the DLC if it was something as simple as that!

In all seriousness though, people have come up with a lot of plausible ideas, and they're all completely different.

I hope this atmosphere carries over to the DLC, keeping us wondering who they are and feeding us misinformation.

Armax Arsenal logo is similar to the top part of the logo. My guess, the Armax Arena opponents.

And there, I would never even have thought of that. Maybe that's why thought they look synthetic.

This seems like the most likely idea thus far.
