Without an Ending fix, i fear many will leave this series with a bad taste and very few will come back. (including poll; should bioware have done something about it?)

Every day someone says something like this and every day they are reminded that the line has been drawn on the endings. It was drawn about 8 months ago with the Extended Cut. Like it or not, that was the olive branch thrown out free of charge with all the cast and crew members brought back to try and put an end to the controversy. If you weren't satisfied with that, then you have to move on because the developers have made it abundantly clear that they are. Good on them for doing so as well.

Figures that your avatar is Udina, cause he sucks about as much as your opinion :D

If the endings were actually addressed to make even one palatable to me, I would be all over this DLC. Instead I got told essentially "your opinion is unimportant to us". So, maybe, someday, once MEHEM is completed.

As to future games, first they must answer "why should I trust you again?"

This is a reminder that we can disagree with each other without name-calling or insults. Thank you.

In my opinion, the only way the endings could have been "fixed" would pretty much involve stripping out everything after and including Priority: Earth to be redone. Such a fix would have been extremely resource intensive and possibly impossible from a coding standpoint. Frankly, given the post release rage, I doubt it could possibly have been an economical proposition. So I don't really think they should have.

Aside from the MEHEM bit, this sums up my feelings. I may buy another game but rebuilding trust has to come first.

Wow, you guys have beaten the horse more times than Tesco.
Seriously, Bioware is satisfied by the endings, most of the fan base are (asides from the vocal minority) so why change it? It is the ending they wanted for their game.
Also, Victory through Refuse is impossible. If you want that lovey dovey ending then go watch MEHEM.

you do not speak for the fanbase.... i can tell you that it is certainly not a "vocal minority"  when the entire forums are swamped by ending related posts, when 50k people join a FB group, when $80,000 is raised for charity, when $1000 is raised in under an hour, when entire new forums spring up around IT, i can tell you definitely it is not a "vocal minority".

That was all prior to the release of the Extended Cut.
How many people hated the original endings but thought the EC addressed enough of their major concerns that they moved on?
Most post-EC polls with a good sample size had a larger section of the fanbase voting that they either liked or were satsified with the Extended Cut endings, than those who voted that they dere disatisfied or hated them.
I also hated the original endings, but moved on after the EC. While the post-EC endings still have some flaws, I  thought the EC addressed enough of my major complaints that I think the series was salvaged.

This seems to say otherwise...

Aww, I can't see the results of that poll. None of the answers are right for me. I don't want a brighter ending and they suck.

Endings suck, we want a brighter one.
91%(68188 votes)

Endings are fine, we just want the Normandy strand on Earth or somewhere near Shepard.
6%(4441 votes)

Fine as it is.
2%(1736 votes)

Seems conclusive to me...

I doubt the numbers would reach that height. The sentiment remains, of course, but it has been diminished. I think the endings suck still but I don't want a 'fix'. I didn't want one before the EC, either.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

As soon as they show the first screenshots and trailers, 90% of BSN will pre-order the game. You may not want to admit it, but that's what's going to happen.

Also, the endings arejust fine. Nothing to fix. Deal with it.

As high as 90%? Amazing. I would've guessed 30% even with a good reputation. 90? Wow.

At this point, there is no point in continuing to complain to Bioware. They made their stance known long ago. I was there with them for the first few weeks after release, but it has gone on long enough. Seeing all the hate in this forum is just sad. Vote with your wallet and STFU. I won't be preording another Bioware game, but I'm not going to write off the entire talented staff because I didn't like one of their games. Thats just stupid. If their next game looks good, i'm going to buy it.

theres always going to be somewhat of a bad taste. The fact is they could and should have done alot better, theyve shown theyre capable of magic. It really felt half-assed, baffling, a bit lazy in a series/ universe so rich in detail. What SHOULD have been....but Ill remember the greatness too, its what made that **** over ad stain of an ending get a reaction get an unprecedented backlsh.....because everything had been so good before, to the point where we expected it and were in love with it.....so we kid of had our hearts broken, we were let down, even screwed over and lied to by something/someone we love....but again, all the greatness is still there too......

Meh if they really wanted to keep the endings as is there's still at least something they could have done for the final LI goodbyes etc..

Did Kasumi not have a VI program of sorts of her ex lover? Why could this not have been done for Shepard as well? Us, the players could have even chosen the dialogue for it - that would have been the bittersweet ending, with tears and some sort of closure. If Shepard truely does live in high EMS destroy then they could have also done the reunion there imo. Or the VI program again only this time with the LI saying something about not believing Shepard is dead to the VI Shep.

I've specifically not purchased a single EA game, or DLC, since EC. If I purchase one by mistake, I return it. EA and BW have ruined the replay ability since I know my play through will end with a big steaming pile of Casey Hudson BS. I'm hoping to prove the cynic in me wrong with this DLC, however the realist in me can't shake the feeling I'm due for more disappoint. I'll purchase this DLC and if my concerns are not addressed, say hello to my money from now on Bethesda.

So no numbers on post EC opinions than.

And yet I'm expected to belive the number is still in the 90% range despite the variables of the excercise changing.

I havnt bought any of the new dlc becuase they are not worth it

The ending itself is the only thing that makes ME3 not worth playing even though there are several faults with ME3 overall.

but if they could at least have made the ending with :

Boss fight with harbinger, remove the catalyst, give us the option of a happy ending and actually show that our choices matter.

oh the whole point with synthesis and controll is a big joke and let down. they should have only have focused on destroy only. because that was our mission from the beginning.

Mass Effect 3 is over. I will buy the new DLC but as far as "we are listening" goes. I no longer believe. My Shepard survived but after that will be up to my imagination and the Bioware I have known and loved for so long has failed. Goodbye after this DLC. I won't spend another dime
