It might be extreme, but look at it from this perspective.
Right now, the only stuff they have showcased for this DLC? It's stuff that is far too unbelievably silly that it makes Volus look legit.
Oh great, we get another Krogan! Whoopee!
Oh look, another Geth! Huzzah!
Oh, what's that? More fanservice in the form of a Female Turian Vanguard(Never mind the whole "Turian biotics are on the whole a lot less powerful", since they've decided to just put the kibosh on actually following their own lore regarding biotics by having two Volus biotics)? Great. Now we get to see that ugly face in every lobby on Tuesday.
And let's not forget the "Alliance Infiltration Unit". Because really, what this game needed was more characters that wiggle when they run right?
There's a reason it's being referred to as the "Sexbot"--and it's not because it talks to you about genders.
The Talon Mercenary and the Geth Juggernaut at the very least sound like they might be interesting--but why another Krogan? What difference in playstyle does it bring to the game?
What makes the Turian Vanguard any different from existing Vanguards?
Why did they not at the very least give us some information regarding the basics all of the characters instead of just throwing out a small sampling?
Ignoring all of that--we're getting seven new guns. Sure, that's more than most DLCs...but right off the bat at least five of them are just ported from single player. That's not bad, but it sure isn't what I would expect from the "final DLC" that they have been working so diligently on.
Then we're getting new weapon mods. Great--but how about giving us a clue of what they do? And why is there another Assault Rifle Omni-Blade listed?
I realize I'm being a huge downer, but this whole DLC just feels kind of like "here's what we had leftover, knock yourselves out" rather than "Here's what we worked hard to bring you as a last hurrah. Enjoy!".
quality over quantity. New characters with new powers, even if there are fewer than Retaliation, is better than a dozen or so put together with the old powers, IMO.
yes, it's the final DLC and they have been working on it for a while, but you have to keep in mind that the team is in fewer numbers than previous DLCs.
Also, your complaints about not telling us every detail about what we should expect don't make sense to me. Personally, I want there to be surprises. And there is no harm in not informing the "consumers" of every detail if the DLC is essentially free. It's not like you are not going to regret putting in the time to unlock these things, at least not if you genuinely enjoy playing the multiplayer. What they tell us about the DLC doesn't change the DLC in any way.
