Is it just me, or is Alistair the perfect guy?

Edit: And this is lame but I shall say it anyway: every time I spoke to the guy on my first playthrough it made me feel all bashful and excited and I have had a couple of moments where I have seriously thought that, since that excitement is actually lacking with my boyfriend (over 2 years we've been together, so... yeah) then maybe I should... er... end it.

I also prefer someone a little more assertive...I don't particularly want someone I could bully that easily.
He is, however, the perfect match for the character I'm playing. -shrug-

And, just a warning? Get in my way and there will be scratching and hair pulling...
ahem...I mean, swords at dawn, madam.

(well, clearly not, as I'm sure this thread will quickly prove).
He's not that bad, I guess. I'm usually buddies with him in my game, but he's an ineffectual nincompoop. If you think about it, he really should be the hero of the story. If you remove the PC from the equation entirely... last of the Grey Warden's, rescued by Flemeth, heir to throne, in possession of the treaties... he really should be leading the charge himself but he's too much of a big puss so he relies on your character do everything.
'course, it'd be a boring game otherwise, but just sayin'

I just dumped mine for that very reason! Don't worry it wasn't serious but he was getting jelious about how much I play DA so I though, meh, better of without.lol

Yeah, my boyfriend isn't too impressed with how much time I spend playing RPGs either.
And good on you. Let's hope there are some real-life Alistairs about somewhere, eh?

Have you hardened Alistair's personality at all? If you have, then you'd know he's considerably more assertive and a bit resistant to bullying after the fact--and, as such, he's even *more* perfect. Just sayin'. =)

Lol, no, I try to stay in character when I play. Sarielle just doesn't yell at or bully anybody...she really takes a little more abuse than she should from people too.
But, as I said, while RL me could probably be good buddies with Alistair I don't think it would ever get past that. The only thing that might make it possible would be the whole class clown mentality he's got. I always did go for the class clowns.

I was going to stay out of this one...but honestly....
If you feel that way go post in the "I hate Alistair" thread. Obviously this thread was geared towards the fangirls.
I could go on for hours about all the personalities in the game and why they're that way. I expect you'd have liked it better if Alistair had taken the inititive and played the game for you?

haha, i truely do hope there are some Alistairs out there. it's an odd name though, now that i think of it. i could never see naming my son Alistair, although in context i love it.
i am hiding my Alistair obsession from my boyfriend, though he's a little upset with how much I play the game. although, now that i think of it, he might've gotten a little jealous at how much i was smiling when Alistair told me he loved me in game.
i'm not sure how to post pictures here, but here's my favorite one

Ok. Sorry, but the kind of women who find a whiny, bumbling idiot, adorable are probably of little interest to me.

The kind of women who find a whiny, bumbling idiot adorable probably have little interest in you. The fact at hand doesn't hinge upon your dislike of Alistair, sad to say.

Since fangirls find it appropriate to not only come but write 2 pages long fluffy defending posts in Alistair hate thread, I think I have all the right to do the same in this one - apart from 2 pages post, no need since one word is enough - idiot.

Usually the fangirls end up in the I hate Alistair threads defending him and yelling at the people that hate him.

I'm going to bet the older one is, the less entranced with him they are. And no, Cybercat, I'm not insinuating you're old.

I also have a bit of a girlcrush on Morrigan. And... why does finding Alistair adorable and being worth someone's time have to be mutually exclusive??? I guarantee there is no one kind of woman that likes Alistair, more likely, women in general will probably like him.
