Well, I'm sorry that he bothers you so much. :P

Let me help you out. *drags Alistair away, hoping to not catch the attention of the other fangirls*

Men just don't like it when even characters on a game are better than them. If something will effect how they get ladies, they get mad.

I call BS on that one.

I have no issues with him being a gentleman at all.

It's *other* things that I mentioned which I found negative.

Since I've been dating and engaged to my fiance, I have been threatened by my ex and so has my fiance...he hates the fact that I love my fiance for the way he is....and he acts like Alistair a lot.

I have a very difficult time believing your fiance is an exact replica of Alistair.

I'm sure he has many qualities that Alistair has, but to say 100$, I say that's pushing it.

I find it interesting so many people love Allistair when most women ignore guys like Allistair or make him the BFF in RL. Truthfully, if you girls who say that he is "perfect" actually opened your eyes and looked around, most likely you have a guy friend just like Allistair nearby that you never even thought about because he acts just like Allistair and is waiting for you to make the first move.

On that note, I wish there were a "give Allistair a high five" option in the game whenever he says something I agree with. He makes a great sidekick. He reminds me of many of my friends.

She never made the claim he was an identical replica. Terms such as "a lot" and "very much" sort of diminish the possibility of exactness.

Never said he was...he calls me his Leliana but I am not an exact replica of Leliana...I do have her qualities in me and even her hair color...but I am saying is that there are men out there who are like Alistair...who aren't annoying, ok.

I have never seen him be mean to Leliana...not once but...Morrigan, I have seen...lol

Not being mean.  I'm talking about the "What's the deal with you and him?  All your kissyface...blah blah" with Morrigan, and the "Do you want me to pass him a note?" that he says to Leliana.

He's really childish.  It's annoying.  I only let him hang around because he simply won't go away.

Alistair act any way towards other men..then again I have yet to play a
male character yet....

Play a male character, and you'll see.  Well...you'll still be tainted by your feelings for him.  Actually be a man, and play a male character, then you'll see

Ah, I misconstrued the point of contention. My fault. =)

Yeah.  Have you ever seen the SNL skit where all the macho guys are sitting around at the bar when their ladies call them on their cellphones?  Each of them breaks into the "wuvvy duvvy widdle bunnykins" voice, then switches straight back into macho-mode when they hang up.  That's perfectly acceptable conduct.

Thank you for agreeing with me.

To be fair to the ladies though, they have the right to be inconsistent with what they say ;)

Yeah...but it is hard to find men like that. Here is something...I think Alistair..if living in this world, he'd listen to Pop music XDXD Which...makes me twitch a bit.

Alistair would make the perfect friend that's for sure .-. he's afraid that if he leads he'll mess up so leaves it to 'you' which is good. Someone so willing to let another lead in such a way with a sense of Justice would actually make the perfect King.

Not really. They are in many different locations.

That being said

1) What you precieve as a gentleman is different then others.
2) If you want someone with a good heart, try checking out volunteering organizations (I'm not joking)
3) There might be many different kinds of gentlemens that you enounter but you just aren't attracted to them so you don't percieve them as dating material.

Many guys who think they are "nice guys" don't seem to be so, really. I'm not saying that this applies to you... but in my experience, many guys will treat you sweetly just to get what they want. And from many "nice guy" rants I've read on the good ol' interwebs, most "nice guys" often say horrible things about the girl in question if she doesn't notice them, and it becomes really clear that they aren't "nice guys" and probably don't feel anything but sexual attraction to the girl, if they're willing to treat her badly in an anonymous forum.

That's not to say all "ncie guys" are like that. One of my brothers is a tried-and-true nice guy, and has actually been treated cruelly by girlfriends who took advantage of him. (The other brother is a man****)

But that's way off topic.

That's apparently what women want.

What is "endearing" to a woman is annoying to a man.

Alistar is kind of a whiny ****, his unstoppable complaining when ever you mention he should be kings is irritating and that's why I traded him in for Loghain in my first playthrough. He was more usful than Alistar anyway. :o

I think it's like people talking to babies/animals. I always change my voice depending on whom I speak with.

Is that  a guy thing? Because I'll talk differently to say, my boss, than I would to my friends, but I don't change my voice.

No, I recognize it in other people too, mostly females. You don't notice it if you don't think about it.

Well, maybe so, but not to the degree that the other poster thinks is "endearing." If a guy called me his "Pretty Princess" he would not be date material.

Now that I think about it though, I can definitely tell when my coworker is on the phone with her husband. They've been married almost 30 years and they still talk like the just got married. I half expect one of those "You hang up" "No, you hang up" things from them. And that actually IS endearing.
