you know what i think? i think this bioware social network could be quite successful as a dating site.

Don't need a site to officially be a dating site, it's inevitable social sites will have at least one couple on them - I met my current boyfriend on a message board about Sonic the Hedgehog when looking for people to play online with on XBox Live. =P

WTF I love it!

Well, no offense to you gals but marriage actually looks like a good idea to a guy at first.

It's a lot like eating ice cream. When you start off it's awesome, everything is delicious and refreshing, but then you eat more and more until OH GOD BRAINFREEZE WHAT WAS I THINKING?!

You think it's any different for women?!

I am a 19 year old student fending mostly for myself at the moment, and managing a long distance relationship which, after almost two years, only recently had some face-to-face time. I haven't been through a lot of "character-building" experiences but haven't gone through life thus far swimmingly. Just to give some background to where my opinion may be coming from, heh, since others seem to be doing so.

I already know how the thing goes with wanting an imperfect guy and seeing him perfectly, or wanting to change or better him - it may not be a phase all girls go through but I sure went through it. And Alistair definitely comes off as that, as he is a character who has room to develop throughout the story, and you assist with that. It's not hard to see where the charm is.

Well I'm not a woman. I wouldn't know.

Have not played for a while but thought I'd check forum before I went for third play-through, I always thought Alistair was a bit of a legend, he managed to avoid responsibility admirably at almost every turn. He probably thought he could slum it out as a Greywarden but the damn Archdemon just had to make an appearance this era & our protagonists had to come along to ruin it all, otherwise he'd of been smooth sailing in typical irresponsible bloke fashion!

Bit of insight: it isn't.

I'm getting some insight into this, because, as I type, my boyfriend is snoring very loudly in my bed. We've practically been living together the past couple weeks, arguing over various mundane things as well, including money, cooking and sleeping arrangements. I imagine this is what marriage is like. =P

To try and get back on topic slightly... I wonder if Alistair snores? (heehee)

I guarantee Alistair snores.

And sorry I keep double-posting, I'm being rather careless. You
know when you just hope someone's already done a new post by the time
you finish your one because you can't be arsed to edit your last one?
Yeah, I need to stop doing that [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

Oh no, I hope not. Snoring has been a dealbreaker for me in the past. Heh.

I think he is one of the best female romance option that Bioware has given us ladies in a long time.

So thanks Bioware for making him and I hope to see more of him in the Dragonage series!

I thought Duncan was kind of hot in a Sean Connery meets The Most Interesting Man in the World kind of way.

I was going to stay out of this one...but honestly....

If you feel that way go post in the "I hate Alistair" thread.  Obviously this thread was geared towards the fangirls.

I could go on for hours about all the personalities in the game and why they're that way.  I expect you'd have liked it better if Alistair had taken the inititive and played the game for you?

Since fangirls find it appropriate to not only come but write 2 pages long fluffy defending posts in Alistair hate thread, I think I have all the right to do the same in this one - apart from 2 pages post, no need since one word is enough - idiot.

Well, of course. It's a well-known fact that the main purpose of forums is for posters to insult each other and do as much as possible to spoil each other's fun. Who could expect anything different. What else could we possibly do? Discuss the game? Ridiculous. Let the bloodletting begin.

Do we really have to spend so much time aiming sharp sticks at each other's eyes? Really?
