And he at least partially composed the final song prior to the credits "An end once and for all".

Clint had nothing to do with that track. Sam merely referenced Leaving Earth when composing it (and since it's based on his composition, Sam credited him for it).

Inon Zur's work in both DA:O and DAII was the source of many personal nerdgasms.

I'd be at least 20% less excited to play the game without him at the musical helm.

A shame :[

But personally, I wouldn't mind seeing say, Michael Curran and Geoff Knorr take the musical helm. The work they did for Civilization V was jaw dropping, imo.

If this is true, then.... :crying:

The DA:O theme was definitely the best theme ever (Or at least one of them).

While playing Origins and DA2 none of the pieces really stood out on their own; the musical piece that really stands out to me is from Starcraft 2 - Heaven's Devils by Russell Brower. This is epic, I wish they could get this guy doing Dragon Age :D.

That's epic for it's cheesiness.

Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it's like Hard-rock-muzak.  Which totally works for Starcraft's ridiculous over-the-top cheese humor.

So no offense (seriously I love that song too), but I wouldn't want that anywhere near DA, or any other fantasy RPG.

I believe Brower is a full-time employee of Blizzard. I doubt they would loan him out to a competitor. :-)

The music he and the team composed for Diablo III (especially the cinematics; I keep wishing BioWare would try to move toward live arrangements) is pretty good. It fills a different role than DA music, however (Diablo songs really need to support endless repetition, so they can't ever go too far).

This does not shock me if true. He said he wasn't pleased with the time constraints on his score for DA2. Inon is great but I'd have to agree with everyone in this thread who said DAO/DA2 weren't up to par with his talents. Perhaps it was time constraints, I don't know. Either way, I was very disappointed in his soundtracks in both games. They're not bad by any means, just not Inon Zur good.

Perhaps this opens the door for Jesper Kyd(who recently went on record to say working with Bioware would be a dream) or Jeremy Seoule. I wouldn't mind a collaboration of a few big names on the project...

Maybe Bioware looked at the ME team and realized how distinct and epic their soundtracks are? Rarely can you find a video game that has a soundtrack that is not only epic but it fits the setting/universe 100% perfectly. I can remember every song in the ME games and know EXACTLY the moments they play. That's a memorable soundtrack. DA? I can only remember a few. That says a lot...

Jesper Kyd, Sam Hullick, Jeremy Soule, and Jack Wall all doing the soundtrack please. That would be a dream team and I'm not sure Bioware could drop that kind of budget or egos could handle a collaboration like that.

The pieces during the cutscenes are far better. I like the one, which plays, when you see the dead marines and Raynor takes the dog tag with the name of the dead former employee of Blizzard.

Ahh I see, thanks for clearing that up

Personally, I loved the DAO soundtrack - rich, diverse, many replayable tracks.. DA2's, on the other hand, was really bland and repetitive (much like the game itself).

I have been championing either Clint Bajakian or Chance Thomas for some time now. Glad we are going to get someone new either way!

This would be a shame as I thought both games had great soundtracks. That said, let's just say I'm not musically inclined, so if it sounds good, is atmospheric and sets the mood, I probably won't be able to tell the difference.

By sets the mood I mean the DAO title music. That was great, I'd often sit and listen to that a couple of times before loading my character up :P

Some of the motifs and themes were actually quite lovely, but I've never felt any of them really meshed very well with the scene in question. On their own they were nice to listen to, but they never enhanced my experience. Nor did it detract. Except Fenris' theme, sorry.

I'm a fan of Zur's work, love some of his previous work's but sadly apart from the main themes, his work on Dragon Age was just weak and forgettable.

This is speculation but he's probably busy with fallout 4 so I doubt he will return.

Who knows, maybe the new composer might be just what Dragon Age needs to become an instant classic.

I hope the news isn't true: I still get goosebumps listening to DAO's main theme when the menu is on screen. But, as long as they don't go all marilyn-manson on the DA3 soundtrack I'm sure it will be ok from that POV.

To be fair DW series has some great songs, especially when they fuse in Chinese instruments.

I'm indifferent about Zur. So much of the music is forgettable to me. I can't recall a single song from Rift for example.
