So the "complicated" issue was that it was a small amount of content? Wow just when I thought this DLC would finally be the apology the Thane fans deserve BW just gives them the finger again. Fan service DLC? Only if you picked the "right" love interests.
Bingo.
At this point, all I REALLY want is an apology from Bioware. I want them to admit their incompetence and sheer lack of professionalism regarding the treatment of Femshep LIs. They view the female gamer base as entirely expendable when corners need to be cut. I refuse to invest time and money into a game series only to be told my experience comes secondary to others.

Silver lining: we might finally find out the context for that "you are a great protector siha" line from the dream sequence. That was clearly from cut content. Maybe they're finally restoring that conversation. Or, I guess, post-mortem monologue.
It was not cut content. Renegade Shep gets that line at deathbed.

It is confirmed that Thane dies, nothing changes. So there's no point anymore. Everthing is lost. I don't need to see extended death scene to know that this DLC is a final insult to Thane fanbase. It's too late for condolences and romance specific deathscene. This shoudl be in main game. This DLC was created for fans, there should be a cure there. This would be worth paying for.
Yeah, thats what bugs me. Thane fans need to fight for months with viral support campaigns to get half the content everyone else does in the base game. And you are expected to pay $15 for it.

No way! I've been wondering about that all year. I guess I never romanced him with a Renegade enough Shepard!
That's... the best piece of news I've gotten from this thread.

This. Even if it was a good Thane moment, why would you except a Thane only fan to pay $15 dollars when every one else gets more content with their LI?
Sure there's a mission with the dlc, but still.

What is the most depressing part of it for me is that I didn't even plan any romance for my Shepards. I thought that romances in BioWare games were a fun thing, good idea to make people connect better with their Shepards, Wardens and Hawkes. But it was so natural to start a romance with Thane while playing my canon Shep. He's my favourite fictional character (and I'm counting also all the wonderful characters from books, films) and this thing meant so much for me. There will never be any character like that. I don't care if in future game I'll choose the best romance option for the protagonist and that time I won't get mandatory death as my 'romance' content. I don't care if any other character will live or die, because it doesn't matter anymore. The most imprtant fight was lost.![]()

I understand you completely. Thane is arguably one of the most developed, complex characters in the series, and certainly has the most depth compared to other LIs. I enjoy a lot of the other romamces but no character offers the kind of experience Thane does when considering his morality, dependance on faith, conflicts with personal guilt, family tragedy, etc. That is why I feel so affronted by his treatement in LI - it was a complete waste of one of the most vivid characters Bioware had crafted in the Mass Effect universe. And I don't romance anyone, so I consider myself pretty unbiased.

There there. At least it saved you another week of waiting, and possibly $15.

This is a fanservice DLC, if we're being honest here I doubt there is much interest in the mission after the lackluster ME3 DLCs already released.
There are only TWO hetero Femshep LIs in ME3, while Broshep gets seven. And it is entirely possible for a player to not have ANY hetero LIs by ME3. Then, when given the chance to fix Thane, they throw Femshep under the bus again. How can anyone justify that?

I would want a cure/treatment for Thane even if he wasn't a romance option. What's the worst thing in his death is that it is such a missed opportunity. So interesting character, reduced to his ilness. Reduced to just the guy who needs to die, because some people complain the game is not dark enough.
Edit: And he is killed by the most pathetic and badly written character ever.

If they wanted to kill Thane, they should not have made him an LI. If they wanted Thane to be an LI, they should not have killed him. I would have assumed keeping the player's choice of romantic partner alive until the end of the series a pretty rudimentary act of decency.

Or at least make it very, very clear that things were going to end badly. Alistair, Morrigan, and Anders in Dragon Age had "THIS CAN END VERY FREAKING BADLY" written all over them. If you stuck through the romance anyway and got a sub-par ending, that's your own damn fault. And even then, the LI isn't always dead. You're free to headcanon whatever you like after the credits roll.
Thane was given a terminal illness...then given content in auxiliary material (LOTSB, Cerberus News Network, etc.) that hinted at a cure for him. And then ME3 backpedaled on both the cure and the character development.

Ugh, I really do *not* want to watch Thane struggling for breath while Shepard stands stoically by all over again just for a short hospital conversation or a pre-recorded video.
Maybe I'll wait and see with this DLC until my mindset improves a bit. I do love most of the ME2 crew and the conspiracy plot could be wonderful. Just need to forget about that whole 're-kindling romances' thing.

Yep. Choosing Thane (or Jacob) in ME2 did not come with any warnings at all. There was nothing to indicate this might be a bad choice. And there was nothing indicating Jacob would be a cheater in ME3.
As of ME2 all romances were pretty much equal. ME3 rolls around and only femShep's LIs get taken away. Where's the equality in that? If things were fair, one of broShep's choices would be taken away too.

Thane fans getting small content is not what they want. It isn't about the cure, or if he dies, they just wanted to be treated equally with the other LI choices.
If this DLC adds enough content to bring Miri and Jack up to Liara type status, then it isn't much to think that Thane and Jacob fans wanted the same thing.

What are you talking about. We didn't get close to what we wanted.
No one wanted a stupid extended death scene that will probably be just as bad as the one in the game.

Since ME3 came out, people have been demanding more time with romances, ME2 crewmembers. You're all getting that.
It's just that Thane isn't among them.
This the first I've heard about an "extended death scene." And I don't see why you would get one, because you cant start the DLC till after the Citadel Coup. When Thane is already dead.

Actually, Thane doesnt die directly after so its still plausable.
