Thankfully, nobody romanced Jacob.
One of my femShep's romanced him, though I was lucky enough to watch a friend who also romanced him play, so I was fortunate enough not to experience first hand the atrocious writing and circumstances behind it. Even secondhand exposure was enough to give me the cringes.
I did go through Thane's romance and found it utterly lacking. It wasn't that he died, I knew that was coming. It was everything else. From the rape-face moment when you first see him, to the "Oh, sorry you're stab! Be back later, got stuff to do!" Jacob's was the worst, but Thane's was a close second.

That's fair. Obviously I understand people are disappointed, but it's not like everyone got in a room and decided that they wanted to offend all Thane fans and romancers. And glib humor on twitter is pretty much the most common type of tweet. I obviously think he would have made that joke about any LI that was dead, and I personally would've thought it was funny. I just don't see how that is evidence of Thane and their fans' mistreatment.
They didn't think of those who romanced Thane at all. A dev admited they flubbed the romance portion of Thane's death because they didn't think about it.
Yep. This is the craziest part to me. How did they forget he was a LI?
Does anyone remember the Game Informer article about Thane's design and how they really tried to make him look appealing because he was going to be a new LI in ME2?

They went around asking the women in the office for their input. All that effort into creating an attractive alien LI ... and by ME3 they couldn't even remember he was a romance option.

That is wholly pathetic and reprehensible, creatively. Kind of repulsive, actually. Wow. I had no idea.

We get Kolyat instead of Thane? This is... interesting.
Makes sense. Kolyat and Thane were talking a lot between ME2 and ME3. I'm thinking we get some touching anecdotes about what Thane had to say about Shepard. Might not be what some were looking for but I think it could be very emotional in its own way.

And Kolyat is in it.
So, I guess she has something with Mordin.
Kolyat is Thane's son.
So, what does Legion get's in this?
I mean, yeah. Thane still get's it the worst( unless Jacob remains cheating ******, then it's arguable which of the get's the worst), but who would come to represent for Legion?

I understand the Thane romancing crew has another stake in this argument, but I personally think that's pretty frakkin' cool---or, at least, it could be.

As an aside though: does anybody else suspect that what we're going to get is actually some Kolyat content? That tweet about Thane's inclusion being potentially complicated/spoilery got me thinking, and well: he's got plot armour, there's nothing stopping him from performing an active role as a supporting character in this DLC even if Thane got killed in the SM*, he's got C-sec connections, Bailey was at one point making a point of keeping him under his wing, and well: Bailey seems the go-to guy if there's something mysterious going on in the Citadel and Shep needs some leads. Oh, and one of the very early ME3 scripts had Kolyat getting mixed up in a Citadel-based plot, which later got cut (I'm not saying this mission will come back because compared to what they're billing this DLC as, the scripted mission was pretty short and bland and also covered a lot of what Sanctuary ended up covering, but I do wonder if it may have evolved and merged into this somehow). If he was a standard plot-element in this DLC, it wouldn't be too hard to give Thanemancers some exclusive content, even though it may be in a different form from what some hoped.
I don't know, I'm probably grasping at straws here but it would be nice to see him again. Thoughts?
Well, it looks like I'm getting what I was hoping for! My thoughts and sympathies for all who wanted more of Thane himself - I wouldn't write off getting some kind of holo or something just yet, although I understand that's not what many were looking for in this DLC.
At the very least, it looks like we're getting some much-needed closure.

No it isn't.
I don't want some funeral that should have been in the game, and I don't want Kolyat.

Isn't the point of this DLC so that we can get a bit more of the characters we love? The fact that they chose to make it playable only post-coup already makes it so we can't get any content while Thane's alive so they throw some Kolyat at us and call it a day? I don't think so.
