Should've been made pre coup, that would have solved it. 
Of course they wont send in Oriana instead of Miranda cause they would never do that to Manshep 

I think they choose that point because that was when all the companions are most available. Kaidan/Ashley, Wrex, Tali. Any earlier would lead to them having to accounting to the variables of the availability of each missing squadmates. I think it's more about cost-efficient than a stab at Thane fans.

Not really, as from what I understand the content is available throughout the game and teamates are included when they become available.

Exactly my thoughts!  Personally, I am super excited about what Kolyat might bring to the table.  If he has a fighting role I'll be severely disappointed, but I'm sure Biowre wouldn't repeat a severe lapse of character development twice.  So that means he's here exclusivly for Thane content.

I didnt interpret that scene as a funeral, but that would be great too.  Then Thane goes from having the most trivial death to one of respect and recognition.

As always I understand where Thanemancers are coming from, but as someone who wasn't expecting anything Thane related at all, I'm actually pretty pleased.

I thought they said that the event would take place after the Cerberus attack. I guess you guys really got the short end of the stick this time. Maybe Bioware thinks that since nothing is gonna change his fate (Which would require them to code different sequence for Thane, as well as adding him in the hologram at Priority: Earth, which would cost money Bioware isn't willing to spend), they want to give him a heroic farewell.

No one can ever convince me that BioWare had any good intensions towards Thane and his fans since Chris L'Etoile left.

This DLC screams of injustice and it is a big f**k you to Thanemancers, but I bet there will be lots of people who will say "Oh, how sad scene, it is so emotional! More of it please! I want to see more forced deaths of the LIs that I didn't choose."

no it is not enough. I support you guys because it is the right thing to do and through ME2, as a Liarancer, I know your pain. Letting them know it is unacceptable is a a start bit without people coming up and explaining things we lack even the most basic understanding.

SOME devs are awesome, for instance, I have an issue with the way difficulty is implemented in ME3, I asked a certain dev about it and he explained to me exactly why it was done this way and made me understand the problems I had not seen behind it. Note that he himself was not exactly happy and is trying to work things differently in the next project but he TALKED to me

Going back to Dusty's comments earlier in the thread, he said we'd be getting romance-exclusive content. If that scene is a funeral, then it couldn't be what he was referring to, could it? I doubt a funeral would be classified as 'romance-exclusive'.

Knowing that kolyat shows up, I think its fair to anticipate you'll get a talk with him about Thane.  Also, wouldn't be surprised if he has something of Thane's to give you, like a video message or a personal item.

I wonder how this DLC will handle/fix treatment of his death.  Could it be possible they added in new crew dialogue back on the Normandy to at least adknowledge his passing?  A funeral seems to be pushing speculation a little too far.

I'm burying my Thane-LI playthrough and beginning one with Garrus for romance. Me2+Me3, it will be long before I play that DLC. But I can't stand the one I have with Kaidan. So boring... want to enjoy the DLC !

I think after getting only one incredibly lousy conversation with Thane in ME3, where he acted out of character and had magically changed his disease from ME2 and it was forgotten that he was an LI, we deserve a bit more than a funeral/memorial service - an acknowledgement of his death that should have been in the game to being with.

As the DLC is not going to fix any of the nonsense that we were given before his death, then I don't think Kolyat being there is enough to make up for it. We'll still have to hear Shep say she wasn't there to visit him in answer to his email, but was instead there to visit Kaidan (who I personally find boring and try to avoid). And we'll still have to listen to Thane describe the new disease that BioWare decided to give him as the death blow before he jumped on Leng's sword, because the ME2 disease obviously didn't sound bad enough. While the DLC might help after the coup, the rubbish before the coup will still be there to prevent us from wanting to play the game again.

Of course, I don't know what is in the DLC, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But I have lost interest in this game and I don't think the DLC will change that, so I'll not be playing it unless I'm given a damn good reason to.

I am a bit surprised at the renewed venom going on in this thread. They told us a few days ago that he was remaining dead and that Thanemancers were getting "a small amount of content"...I'm happy to see Kolyat, as that could mean Shepard gets a significant talk with him regarding his father and what Thane may have told him about Shepard during their 6months apart. It's no Thane, but it could be an opportunity for some very emotional stuff.

Also, as far as the alleged funeral is concerned...he's dead. I think a funeral (while sad) is a nice touch, and they BETTER have romance-specific content in this, too.

I think that a significant part of "romance-specific content" pertains to these "significant talks" with Kolyat. "Uncle/Auntie Shepard" (who only befriended Thane) obviously should get different dialogues from "Mommy Shepard" that romanced Thane.

I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you, but I can't shake the fact how you can get so personally close with a fictional character? And that you can't seem to enjoy something that doesn't involve Thane? Of course, I get that you are jealous of the other romances, but why not try romancing the other characters then? It's like you are a cult that hate everything in the Mass Effect series but Thane.
I romanced Thane one playtrough. I enjoyed what I got in the vanilla game. I got very emotional when he died, it was a beautiful and well scripted scene. I was a Thanemancer myself. So don't come and say that I don't have the "right" to tell my opinion about your behaviour. Please, don't be so... dramatic.

Garrus is my "canon" female Shepard LI and the whole thing still ticks me off. I'll have to force my adept through to see the "LI only" content. Does that mean my male Shepard doesn't get anything as a friend?
