I like how people ignore epic story telling like Thane's sacrifice and the fact he is dying and can't be cured just because they are butt hurt that you don't get to save him and be with him. His character left a huge impact and without him Shepard would not have gotten full salarian support for the war. His memorial service in the Citadel DLC is an awesome tribute to the character.
Can you stop.
We are entitled to have a different opinion then yours. If you don't like what you are reading then leave.
Wait, so everyone in the Thane thread has to have the same opinion, and if not they need to leave?

No, and I never said it was okay, but the continued telling of everyone who posts something that is considered a "different" opinion to leave isn't okay either.

Looks to me it's people who call names that are being invited to leave.

Intersting, it doesn't look that way to me just looking a few pages back. And as far as "invited," if only it were so polite.

Pity party for everybody up in here.
One of my playthroughs as femshep, I romanced thane. I found his ME3 treatment to be sad, but also very good. And the citadel dlc scenes were all very good as well, excellent in fact, and I love bioware for at least having more stuff in it than just the funeral.
Still, I guess that means I'm not a true romancer of thane then, not extremist enough I guess.
Oh please. Someone else who needs to get a grip. Serioulsy.
Not one person said that so don't make up lies. I thought it was ok.
You liked it and that's fine. Not everyone did, but I guess others are not entitled to their opinion.
Oh I'm sorry, is my observation on the prevailing attitude of this thread being that those who don't agree with the domiant message of "Bioware is evil" are simply trying to torment thanemancers rubbing you the wrong way?
Your observation is wrong, and who said that those who still love Bioware are trying to torment Thane fans. I don't remember reading that.
You still like Bioware and others don't.
What's the problem?
The problem is exactly what you said...that poster likes Bioware and cannot deal with the fact that people are complaining about the sh!t sandwich Thane fans were handed.
I've been away from here for a very long time. To be honest, I didn't give a rat's backside about the game anymore and had my own headcanon where Thane was cured and lived. I saw, on facebook, that new DLC was released and there was some new Thane material. I watched the videos and cried. At first, I was pleased (despite the depressing nature of the material) that Bioware threw a bone to Thane-mancers, but after thinking about it for a day, it just pissed me off more.
The pre-recorded videos were both lame ("siha" in the first, then "shepard" for the next ones, really?? did he suddenly stop loving her?) and ungodly painful (it was more like rubbing salt in the "Haha! Thane's dead and all the other romantic interests lived! Take that for complaining, you annoying Thane fans!). A "friend" Shep calls Thane a freaking criminal at his own damned funeral - a friend wouldn't do that outright, no matter the circumstances. No other humans show up to the funeral. Then Thane's son goes to convince the guy to fund research on Keplar's...after we have hints in the game that there's a freaking treatment for it, anyway. Retcon much? It seemed they were pulling things out of their collective backsides to justify their decision to kill Thane without giving Shep an option to save him (they could've easily done a ME1 redux, where instead of having to choose between saving Kaidan or Ash, you have to choose between saving Thane and, say, a planet). The whole story was just ugly, painful, and poorly written all for the sake of doling out misery onto one group of fans while giving everyone else a happy-schmappy ending.
So yeah, I don't like it. The DLC didn't fix a damned thing and I won't be buying it. And, while I enjoyed the first DA games (even DA2, though I thought Anders' character was completely trashed in it), I won't buy DA3 unless - after it has been out long enough for people to post, in detail, how the story progresses and ends - the storyline is not one that leaves me thinking that shoving a firepoker in my skull would be less painful than playing the stupid game. I play games to escape reality. I have no desire to play something that leaves me with swollen, red eyes and a pile of soggy kleenex at my side. I want happy, dammit. And if Bioware can't provide it, I'll happily find a company that can.
Oh wait, I already did. *goes back to playing some of the AC games, New Vegas, and Skyrim*

I liked Citadel. Disappointed that BioWare didn't use it as an opportunity to fix Thane and Jacob's content, but I do appreciate the good faith effort in the memorial for Thane. Not so much for Jacob. I think I'm better off killing Jacob off in ME2 and pretending his ME3 incarnation never existed.
If I can't romance it, I want to kill it! lol

Would the Vega or Javik interludes also block the appearance of this scene?
I have a Thane romance playthrough on its way that I can stay loyal to him for, but I'm only at the Legion loyalty mission in ME2 with it... it'll be a while before I can get to this DLC with it :/

The additional communications established that the relationship was important to the characters and that there were deep feelings involved. We know that Thane (at least) still loved Shepherd and tried to communicate with her during her imprisonment. We get a strong sense of foreshadowing doom when Thane promises to be waiting for Shepherd when her time comes.
These additions didn't turn the romance into a happy one, it was a tragic story still but I thought it became a stronger romance and in some ways (from a metagame perspective) probably the most comforting romance in ME3. This seemed fitting to me because Shepherd's journey wasn't a terribly happy one, victorious but not happy.
For my Thane romancing Shep, I think she would have found the whole end game sacrifice scenerio much easier to cope with knowing that she wasn't leaving behind a lover to grieve for her. Her love story was over, her battles ended and I as the player felt OK with jumping into whichever colour ending I felt like. I don't think any Shepherd but a Thanemancer could have felt less conflicted about sacrificing themselves at the end. In a way I think we were the lucky ones because Bioware made it easier for us to say goodbye to our Shepherd's.
That's my take on it anyway.

Take the bottom dialogue option (think it was called "He fought with us" or something similar) and Shepard will instead talk about Thane being on the Normandy and fighting beside Shepard on the Collector Base.wright1978 wrote...

Is there any way to avoid calling Thane a criminal as friend Shep? That is just not something my Shep would say.

I`m completely agree with this part. I couldn`t say any better. Though I did like dlс itself (regarding Thane`s part). Such a mixed feeling, I mean, It seems like the best dlс ever, but you know some feel of injustice appears anyway when you think of Thane. That foolish messages made me feel guilty `cause Shep didn`t get them. And make me desire extremely to punch an Alliance`s command who blocked mails. Oh, and in the third message he talks about Irikah, kinda sucks. And their "cure" - "Oh, fem!Shep, we`ll heal drells, now, when your likelong sweetheart has kicked the bucket". Morons. As for the rest, everything was awesome. (again, except for Thane`s part)

LOL, no. More like if it's that horribly written, I don't want it in my game
See also: Kai Leng. Unfortunately I've yet to find a way to evict him from ME3.

It doesn't matter, and it's just a one night stand which would trigger the morning after the party where Shepard had regrets about sleeping with him. He said something like "You primatives are at least good for one thing".Akino Yamiko wrote...
