It doesn't matter, and it's just a one night stand which would trigger the morning after the party where Shepard had regrets about sleeping with him. He said something like "You primatives are at least good for one thing".Akino Yamiko wrote...

Wha..?! JAVIK? How? plz, tell me!)
WHAT? More details, plz))) I know about Vega, but JAVIK! Renegade or paragon Shep? Some important conversations/solutions in game? I have met with him only once in dlc, about Blasto. Did i miss something?
It doesn't matter)) i rly rly love Javik, so... i begging you, tell me, HOW?
This is the scene if you want to see:
Oh, thx. Wow. Just... simply... be single. That's all. Wow, thx bioware. Damn, not even a little flirt. The biggest disappointment in my life.

I romanced Kaidan in ME1 but didn't rekindle his romance in ME3, unlike Thane's, and got the goodbye scene. I had problems triggering the memorial scene though and I just had to reload several times. I think you should be able to get the ghost scene just by doing the memorial, perhaps watching the vids, and then throwing the party and finally returing to Normandy.Elana.S wrote...
What are the conditions for triggering the Thane goodbye scene? I'm super pissed off because my lukewarm Kaidan rebound prevented me from seeing this scene. I haven't spoiled it for myself on YouTube.

Don't know about Vega since I didn't flirt with him. And apparently Shepard can't get the Javik scene if she has romanced Thane, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I think I understand how you feel, but I have to disagree with the "we were the lucky ones" part. As far as I know, every LI could die at some point of the game. Could. They had different outcomes depending on player choice. I think every fanbase has those who seek happy romances, those who seek tragic/sad romances and those who seek both. Let's take a look at Miranda's romance, for example. She may survive through ME3 or she may have a beautiful death scene, depending on the choices you make. Those who want a happy romance can save Miranda, rekindle the romance with her and headcanon them a happy ending. Those who want a tragic romance can let Miranda die and choose their ending without feeling guilty about leaving a lover behind (just like Thanemancers). Those who want variety can do both in different playthroughs. But, in Thane's romance, every player is forced to experience the tragic outcome. When Thane died at my first playthrough, after so little interaction and a death scene I found stupid, my game was ruined. My Shepard was heartbroken and nobody seemed to care, and eventually, she became suicidal and chose the synthesis ending just to end her life. You're right, the choice was an obvious one for me -- but I didn't feel good about sacrificing Shepard. I felt like I was forced to do it.Sister Goldring wrote...
For my Thane romancing Shep, I think she would have found the whole end game sacrifice scenerio much easier to cope with knowing that she wasn't leaving behind a lover to grieve for her. Her love story was over, her battles ended and I as the player felt OK with jumping into whichever colour ending I felt like. I don't think any Shepherd but a Thanemancer could have felt less conflicted about sacrificing themselves at the end. In a way I think we were the lucky ones because Bioware made it easier for us to say goodbye to our Shepherd's.
Citadel DLC fixed the problem that was the lack of acknowledgement of Thane's death (I somewhat liked the ghost-Thane scene, it made me cry) but there were still so many things to fix before his death and during it. The conversation at Huerta is still awkward and cold, Shepard can't even mention the lung transplant or ask why Thane is suddenly at peace with dying again, she still acts like an idiot during the KL fight, and the deathbed scene lacks emotion. I never saw Thane's death as inevitable, but as forced; there seemed to be plenty of ways he could've been saved, and I still feel like my headcanons are more plausible than what actually happened. That been said, if they absolutely wanted to make a mandatory death and a tragic romance, they should have done it properly. When looking at Thane's ME3 romance arc, even the DLC included, I don't see a tragic romance: I see a joke. The post-death content is good, but to me, it doesn't make up for the mess that takes place before the Citadel coup and during it. The DLC could have taken place before the coup, thus giving Thanemancers more happy times with him. Instead we only got more bittersweet and sad content, something that no one else was forced to experience. I'm sincerely happy that some Thanemancers found the closure they were looking for in this DLC, but personally, I won't be able to play ME3 with my canon LI ever again. I'm disappointed -- I'm sure BW could have done better than this if they just wanted to.

They held a funeral for Thane where Shepard calls him a criminal if not romanced, then afterward, you received a video tape from his son showing his last words. At the end of the DLC, Thane appeared as a ghost to comfort Shep.crimzontearz wrote...

It's not really a ghost, but seems to be more a reflection of Shep's thoughts, like in a way to signify that he's always with her. Treatment of Thane's romance arc notwithstanding, I thought it was actually a very touching scene.

Just so you don't get the wrong idea crimson, Shepard uses the word criminal juxtaposed to Thane's eventual redemption as a hero. He's not just crapping on Thane. It's also not really a ghost but more a remembrance at the end.

Hmm, not sure why. I can only tell you to go out and do other things, then come back and check again (which I assumed you've done).
Also this only occurs if Thane died in ME3, not ME2.

Thane gets to be Mass Effect's Mufasa at the end. There is no higher honor.

The redemption was the most noble act of his life.
The Suicide Mission was a part of that, but not the whole story. Preventing Kolyat from following in his footsteps and sacrificing his own life to save another were large parts of that redemption arc as well.
yeah okay my pt is they made a big deal out of the stupid salarian councillor to make it seem like what happened in the core game wasn't clunky and forced and stupid

I don't really get the fight scene objection. It's shown multiple times that Leng can easily block bullets with biotics.
Never mind that Thane tells you beforehand that running alone is difficult for him. The fact that he held out as long as he did is amazing. Kai Leng is no slouch, much as I hate him. Miranda even warns you about him and he kills her (Who is healthy & in shape) if not warned.
The scene tore at my heart. But rather see him carried away by Seeker Swarms? NO!
