I miss the old Thane Threads. Less vitriol and more acceptance there.

I love Thane, I have done so since 2010. But as a Thanemancer, it seems like my very own corner in the fandom is snarling at me over actually loving him in ME3 too. And being moved by his final stand. And sobbing my heart out over the Citadel content.

I'll still feel that way though. I never expected a happy ending.

You're not alone. This was exactly what I wanted regarding Thane. I knew the romance would end tragically--that's why I chose it. Citadel gives me the validation I craved, effectively promoting him to full LI.

So let me get this straight: ME3 Thane was perfect for you, you never stop by to complain he was missing a memorial, that no one talked about his death, that Garrus says he is glad no one died during the coup...

All was hunky dory by you.

Then after we disgruntled Thanemancers screaming, you get a Citadel DLC that you love and validates your romance. But which had content THAT WAS MISSING from the game and you never noticed. You never joined our fight.

Your romance is now validated ?  You loved the additional content ?
You are welcome, I guess. You never lifted a finger to get any of this, never missed it to begin with, according to you all was perfect.

Just cut it out with the martyr complex. We have been screaming AT BIOWARE for content that was obviously missing ant that validated your romance. So if you are not going to say thanks, then don't diss us. Because Citadel dLC would not have happened without people saying how much they misssed it and how it should have been in the game.

Chris Priestley posted here asking for suggestions for DLC. We sent him the link to our "Cosmic Love" survey and web site with over 6,000 people begging Bioware for more time with their LI and more time with the ME2 crew.  A lot of work went into that site and that suurvey. Citadel DLC is responding to that need, not to the people who stayed silent and just said "I love ME3 all is perfect, you whiners should STFU". :bandit:

Even if Thane was tired and exhausted (which I don't doubt) keep in mind HE WAS NOT ALONE. There were three heavily armed people in the room who just stood to the side watching EVEN when there was a clear moment where they could have easily intervened (like when Thane ****slapped Kai Leng with his biotics).

No one helped him and it was pathetic. He basically jumped on Kai Leng's sword and killed himself while everyone watched.

Just wanted to say thanks to those who spent so much time theory-crafting romance DLC. I honestly thought that incorporating it into a DLC for all romances would be too cost-prohibitive, but BW proved me wrong. Kudos to those who stuck with the idea.

I agree. That scene held no logic. There is no way in heck Shapard * Co. would have just stood there and watched.

EDIT:  Seriously though no one ever said it was perfect before EC or Citadel DLC.  Loving him in ME3 doesn't equate to thinking everything is perfect and nothing needs to change.

I give credit, where credit is due. The memorial maybe... caused a few tears (which is rare in itself). It was very well done. I Just don't understand why female players got so dumped on. I know we are not the majority of the market, but we're also not a mere handful either. We count. :)

Yeah its because we are the minority by like 1% and that Thane and Jacob were the lesser chosen options, that we got snubbed. I dont understand why they had to cut anything at all when they added in two new romances... Sure for the gay/lesbian market but still...

Ive posted in here before but I never quite got the feeling of having something be taken away from you but now after the Vega "romance/fling" that I wanted was so bad it might as well never have been there... Well I feel you and Im sorry I ever doubted how bad Bioware had screwed up with Thane.

esp knowing that thane was terminally ill,

if we're to accept the projections others have been slappin on it (that he can't even run, his biotics were exhausted, etc), even if shepard and co didn't like thane they wouldn't have left it up to him to prevent kai leng from committing the deed and escaping; that's just stupid.

Feh.. Those people missed that no one mentioned Thane. Missed that Thane gives no paramour. Missed that the Drell were condemned to extinction. Missed that everyone tries to jump on Shepards pants after he dies.

They were playing the game in la-la land. I bet there the fight scene made as much sense as the rest of the content. NOW that they see on the DLC all that was missing, like Shepard crying, Shepard and Thane saying I love you. Theane's desperate attempts to contact Shepard, the trip to the desert.. Now they think it "validated" something they never noticed was missing parts.
Pu-lease, cut it out with the persecution complex. Where were you when we were being mercilessly trolled for asking for all that above ?

No, that's not what I said at all. *Groans* I was bloody upset at what I felt was missing from his story arc in ME3.

Keep your presumptions, as I was actually campaigning with my fellow Thanemancers to let Bioware know what I thought was missing in ME3. I "owe" you nothing because, as a Thanemancer since 2010, I've been very active to promote our "cause" as much as I could. Only place I avoided was the BSN.

Like I said, keep your inaccurate presumptions.

The whole martyr complex thing reeks of hypocrisy. And I was not dissing you at all.

And I didn't do that. I was part of the surveys (Every single one I could find), the facebook campaigns, I sent letters & messages to Bioware.

Who the hell are you to presume that just because someone doesn't agree with you fully, they never participated in the campaigns that led to a lot of this content? Because you could not have been more wrong.

Also I really don't understand what your response has to do with anything that you quoted me on.

And you people seem to work purely on presumptions.

I noticed all of these things and while I had abandoned the BSN due to its volatile nature, I supported the Thane campaigns in every way I possibly could. But yeah, sure, keep assuming otherwise if it helps.

FYI: NO, I was actually crushed by Thane's meagre presence in ME3 and Shep showing no emotion, everyone forgetting him etc. really hurt. But thanks for assuming otherwise.

I actually agree with you on most things, oddly enough. So...from Thanemancer to Thanemancer: Peace?

Citadel DLC: In one of his video messages he tells Shepard that he and Kolyat visited a desert in New Mexico while Shepard was locked up. He wished she could be there, but yea...
