 People need to stop posting about the ending, it's over. Bioware gave us a FREE EC. Sure the ending was garbage before the EC. All these polls about it are pointless. Now you probably thinking, "Oh, this idiot isn't a true fan, he hasn't played all the mass effects or he hasn't played them long enough." I have in fact I preorderd every single one and have the trilogy. The fact that everyone hates the ending because Shepard dies is ridiculous, I know there is other reasons why people hate it, but, this seems to be the main reason(in my observations). I understand it is not *complete* either. Some people hate it because they didnt get what they wanted. It's biowares game and they can do whatever they want with it. I hate the ending, but I also enjoy it and like it as well but I've found closure with it and I'm definitely getting the next mass effect.

They can have their ending. I just want a VI style vid like Kasumi had of her LI for Shepard and Kaidan where the player gets to choose Sheps dialogue. That would have been the bittersweet ending and closure needed. In the destroy ending he could even tell the virtual Shepard he didn't think she was dead!

I can and do dislike the ending for reasons other than Shepard's death, which I saw as fitting. I dislike the narrative composition, the lead-up, the mis-handling of plot elements. I even dislike the rest of the game for one reason or another. I still desire constructive discussion with other fans and especially the developers. I don't dislike you because you like the ending.

I always found it funny that people think "destroy" is the "good" ending just because shepard can survive it. Wiping out trilions so you can survive? Yeah, very paragon...

Im referring to the people who ARE mad because shepard died. Sure the ending was bad, but I'm not complaining about it

I'm basically with you OP. I don't *hate* the ending, in fact, I think there's a lot to like about it - especially after the EC. It's far from perfect, but the completely free re-cutting of the ending was a big gesture and it is important to acknowledge there never is and never will be a way to please everyone.

It's not *the* perfect ending.

It was never going to be.

But it is an ending.

And not the worst I've seen.

(especially when playing video games)

In fact, it's not that bad.

Who knows, maybe I will even come around to liking it eventually.

Shepard does not see the future. According to the Catalyst, Shepard will die in all endings.

Also, if you think this is the only reason for choosing Destroy, you are wrong. I'm not elaborating, this has been discussed to death.

i don't like the ending I've found closure with the current ending. I'm all for bioware making a new one, but I think everyone can agree, it's not happening

Op, they gave us a BROKEN ending, "very similar" to deus ex 3 and asimov's foundation.

Well, is their right to say that is "their" ending, and our right as customers to claim for a good ending anfter FIVE YEARS of being a loyal customer. We have EVEN said that we want to PAY for a new ending.

But don't worry, there are several persons more implied in making a new ending, that, you'll see, is going to be far better than the original. With time, it will became canon.

I didn't think it needed to show Shepard's life after the war, but I expected to at least be able to end it like ME1 and ME2. I wanted my victory strut and nod dammit. I still don't think it would have been too much to expand the breath scene to at least getting up out of the rubble like in ME1

urgh, why does the ending actually need any more forum posts? the game is great, the story-arc is epic, the endings fit (for me anyway) and if they don't fit for you (not necessarily OP but "you" plural) then tough sheet.

There's an old saying that fits for the endings that i'm sure you've all already heard or know of:

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.
