I'm trying to load a builder package a friend sent me.
The first try I loaded it but instead of creating the new adding, it just loaded into the mod I had open.
... after cleaning that mess, I created a new mod and tried to load there, but many things failed to load.
... I tried again but this time instead of loading the four files I was sent, it started to modify a million other things (another mess to clean by undoing checkouts...)
What gives? :-/
Shouldn't the addin get created also with the files that come in the builder package? And how come it creates all kinds of ugly messes when I create the containing module by hand?
Thanks :-/
Builder to builder load is messing my toolset :-/

Hmmm....I hope it wasn't an error on my side with how my toolset put everything together.

Oops. Okay, what I posted here before was supposed to be posted in another thread...
Anyway, yes, the problem is that the Addin doesn't get created. And addins have their unique id strings for dlgs and etc, and of course if I create a new one, then all the ids in the dlgs will be changed? ...breaking the vo too? :-/

Yes but everything there is useless.
I think what we need is to share the db, but it doesn't say there how it's done cos it's not tested.
Hm.
EDIT: Doh. Of course, the addin initial info (string ids and what have you) are stored in the db, not in separate files in folders. Okay. It sucks.
